The LS2000 is older than XP and has some fairly tight requirements to work. The recommended SCSI adapter is an Adaptec 2906, and you will probably need to backrev the ASPI layer driver files to version 4.7 (available on adaptec.com site). You may need to boot in Safe Mode to remove the later versions of the ASPI files before you can install the 4.7 files. You will also need to update your Nikon Scan software to version 3.1.2, available online by googling "nikon scan 3.1.2".

SOURCE: dell laptop wont recognize ls2000 scanner

The LS-2000 is a "legacy" device to XP and the Nikon software. It needs to be connected to a true SCSI bus adapter, and it's actually pretty finicky about which ones will work in XP. Sorry, you won't be able to use this with your laptop.

Does not work with windows 7; cannot connect to scanner

You have to replace the original Konica Minolta driver with the custom one I have created below. Here are the detailed steps.

1) Install the Konica Minolta XP software in Vista/Win7.
2) Plug in your DImage Scanner into a USB port and turn it on with the door closed. It will detect and install the original Konica Minolta Driver.
3) Create an empty folder on you harddrive (for instance go to my computer, double click on the c: drive, then right click and create a new folder named newminolta).
4) Open windows notepad and copy the following into it:
; sonyscanners.inf -- Sony (Konica Minolta) Film Drivers

18. The above driver should relink virtually all known Minolta scanners (USB/SCSI/Firewire) to the Windows TWAIN driver so it will work with the legacy Minolta software.

Konica Minolta Dimage scan dual film scanner will not connect to windows 7

Copy this into a text file named "sonyscanners.inf" and then manually point to it as the correct driver in device manager for your scanner and it'll all work like magic again. Forget using a virtual machine...not needed. I use this for both the Dimage IV and 5400 Elite in Windows 7 64-Bit.

Drivers for Nikon LS 1000

I believe that's a SCSI-interface scanner, making its setup more complicated than there's room for here. Here's what Nikon says about SCSI setups: <http://tinyurl.com/2wxp7p> and the Nikon software for the LS2000 and LS3000 (but maybe it'll work for the LS1000 too) is at <http://tinyurl.com/2qko5e>. There's a good set of detailed installation instructions under cineman's entry at <http://hardware.mcse.ms/archive47-2005-6-203500.html>. Good luck!
