I did not fix the problem, I called a plumber and fixed the sewer. So I will still have a problem with the lint trap on the washer. It is supposed to be self cleaning, but I have my doubts.

Sewer smell in clothes

The tub is probably pretty dirty. Try cleaning the washer with CLR.

Lint trap hole full of lint

caused by a back up of debris ,, remove the vent tube, and clean it throughly , including the vent cap outside, check for damage to the flap inside of it, if it has one, then remove the back of your machine, and remove the vent tube that goes from the blower fan to the vent ( lint) trap, clean out all of that , and any build up of lint in the machine, ( unplug it first )

Is there a lint trap or lint filter on this washer? It is a kenmore washer model# 11022622100. I seem to remember my old washer having one inside the lip of the tub but I can not find one anywhere.

On most 110 mods there was what they called a lint trap at the bottom of the wash basket. You can;t see it without taking the basket out (ya I know dum) you will need special tool to remove basket.that filter has now been replaced by whirlpool with 4 little plugs and the so called filter is removed. You can clean the old one and unit will be fine..for that job I would say to get a pro as it takes me about 2 mins to open and will save you as a home owner a whole lot of headaches..Hope I helped and Thanks for voting

Just a note that whirlpool made that machine.

Prblems with Kemore washer

Clean your washing machine before your next wash load to be sure there is no lint trapped anywhere in the machine. Fill the tub about half full of water then add a couple of cups of white vinegar to the wash water. Allow it to agitate and then sit there and soak for at least an hour before you empty the machine.
Lint is small fibers from clothing that have come loose from natural wear or laundering. They can build up in washers and wreak havoc on your clothing. The dryer will remove the lint. But with clothing, like dress shirts that are air-dried, this can be a real problem; often requiring multiple washings to remove the lint. Older washers came standard with removable lint traps that could be cleaned. Some would filter the water as it recycled through the washer, while others would require the removal of the center tub support for cleaning.
Newer washers have a self cleaning system that uses a filter to trap the lint and the spin cycle to flush it away. It saves the inconvenience of having to manually clean the filter.
If you have a lint problem, here are a few tips to try:
1) Low water pressure can impede the flushing action of the washer during the spin cycle. Look for pressure variations during filling of both hot and cold water. A kinked or blocked hose can cause this. Check for sediment in the hose as well.
2) Verify that the all of the water is being pumped out of tub and that no restriction in the drain hose exists.
3) Don't wash high lint producing items like socks and towels with your dress shirts.
4) Use a name brand detergent. They have higher quality cleaners and soften the water better, which helps release the bond between lint and clothing, allowing it be flushed away.
5) Don't overload the washer. Your washer needs water and room to remove the lint.
6) Run a wash cycle with a cup of regular white vinegar added. This will help rid your washer of any accumulated lint.
A washer doesn't produce enough lint to have any effect on a septic system, so a separate washer filter is not necessary.

Add a cup of either white or cider vinegar to your washing machine along with the detergent before loading in your clothes to keep lint off.

Sort out all towels and washcloths since they create lint. Put them through a separate wash cycle to keep them from transferring lint to your clothes.

Check the labels on all your clothing to be sure you sort them correctly. Cotton clothing produces lint in the washing machine while polyester clothing picks it up. Wash them at different times to keep the lint off those that are likely to pick it up.

Turn your clothes inside out before putting them into the washing machine to keep them from collecting lint as they go through the wash cycle

Washing machine lint trap

There is no trap per say. The lint catcher is self cleaning when the water is pumped out. It sounds like you are overloading it and the clothes are hitting the agitator. Operation should be agitation by water movement not beat by the plastic fins, run a wash cycle hot water no clothes to flush things out and try smaller loads.

When machine pumps out the smell comes through the sink

All plumbing drains whether under a sink or the stand pipe drain, for a washer, are required by LAW to have a trap to prevent the sewer gases from entering a home.

Sewer gases are dangerous in many ways, not the least of which is the terrible smell. Sewer gas can build up and if allowed to accumulate near an appliance that operates on gas (LP or natural) can combust and cause a fire and/or an explosion.

Yes, if you can do the installation youself, do it ASAP, or contact a licensed plumber and have installed a proper drain trap for the sink and also make sure the drain that the washer is draining into, also has a trap in it.

This will have a profound impact on the smell and will help alleviate foul odors from your sewer lines.

Hope you found this Very Helpful and best regards!

LINT STICKS TO MY CLOTHES IN WASHER

linting is caused by a few things
firstly what sort of soap poweder do you use
i recomend good quality powder
do not wash clothes too long as what you are doing is rubbing all the fibres out of them
good quality washing powder only last about 6 minets in water and after that it looses its qualiteseg
the PH changes in the water
you may be using too little soap powder and this also depends on water quality eg too hard or soft water
is the water levels set corectly
do not mix washing
eg towels with jeans as the lint will come off onto jeans
try using delicate wash on different fabric as the adgitation is different on different cycles
try using warm wash and not cold machine is probable ok but wah times are important
good luck
