XBox 360 No Video Feed, replaced cables still no video feed, Sound is fine, if this were a desktop computer I would guess that the video card had failed however It is not and I do not know how much resemblance it has to a desktop computer vis a vie I don't want to tear it apart only to find out the the video out is integrated into the circuit board and can not be replaced by a novice by unplugging and replugging in a new video card Thank you Dan

Have hooked Xbocx 360 to several different televisons in my house - both HDTV and 480 - same results: No video, just audio. What should we try?

  • aligner Nov 10, 2007

I also have no video and the audio is ok. I have tried all the ways of simple trouble shooting with no luck (dif TV, cable, input change.......)

If you have another television you can try, do that. Maybe there is something wrong with the inputs INTO the T.V. If you don't have another T.V. to try, hook up a DVD player to that same location you were attempting to hook up the 360. If that too doesn't work, you know it's the T.V. If the DVD player does work, check one more thing. Make sure the switch on the actual XBOX 360 cable is set tot he proper switch. You have a choice of 480 or HDMI. If you have a 480 T.V. and have it set to HDMI, I don't think it shows a picture. Hope this helps.

Image being Captured/Recorded is in Gray Scale (Black and White

Not knowing what capture card you have, I can only guess that you are using the componet video input to the capture card and the composite video out of the Xbox. If you are using HDMI, it could be a bad HDMI cable. This link:

My xbox 360 will not show video. only audio. I'm using composite cables. It wont work directly to the tv, or through an RF modulator. I've even tried a new cable from the xbox to the tv. ps2 is working...

The problem is you have a broken video
line feed under the G.P.U.

The solution is to have the G.P.U. reflowed
(resoldered) .Many shop preform this type of
repair .Cost will very 50.00-80.00 . This
will produce the most durable repair.

Shop around for someone local and except
nothing less then a 90 day warranty

if you have any questions feel free to ask.

The video feed isn't happening.

this is most likely a resolution thing, if you are switching tvs and one resolution is higher than the other, if this happens when you start the box up hold down the right trigger and the "Y" button, this will reset the resolution to the default settings

"No signal" on hdtv while trying to watch netflix via xbox

First you need to eliminate the possibility that
the box is loosing video feed from the G.P.U.
hook the unit up in with normal yellow
white and red a/v connection for standard TV
out . if it happens shut the unit off and on again
and if you have sound and no video it's the G.P.U
becoming disconnect , the fix for this is to have
the chip re-flowed back to the P.C.board .the other
cause is a failing HDMI cable but im guessing you
already replaced that.

Xbox 360 - When you turn on the machine, you can hear it boot up with sound but there is no video output. No red lights on face of machine if it is hooked up to tv, but if you disconnect from tv all 4 red...

Your right ,you should get 4 reds if you unplug the a/v cable
The problem is one tiny solder ball connection Under the G.P.U
has become un-soldered (The video feed)

The fix is to have the chip re-flowed .
Or you can do an xclamp mod , that will get it working
for a little while.
Or send it in to Microsoft if it's under warranty.

Those are your options.

if you have any questions just comment and ill respond.

Fuzzy screenon and off when playing any of the games on my Xbox 360 elite

if you have the reciept you may be able to send it into microsoft and get it replaced/fixed, or it could be the feed cables.

Cannot get picture just sound when i hook up my xbox elite system

Double check TV is on video 1,2,3 same for 360s yellow video out.
If then you still have audio only ,the G.P.U has open connections
form the video feed to the mother board
Solution, you must have the G.P.U re-clamp to the main board.
That Works. 99% of the time.
