There is no such thing as a laars hot tub. They make heaters for pools and hot tubs. The laars is the heater. There is a chance that someone remote connected the thermostat to the heater which would be in your boiler room, or some other remote location, like near the pumps...

About two thirds down the right side of the heater. Inside the ignition control will have one screw that holds the mounting plate in place then it will swing out on hinges and all your wireing will be done behind it.

It sounds like your pool heater might have a defective controller (the part, not you). Check the controller and replace if necessary. It could also be that you need to cycle the ignition sequence until the air is out of the gas line. It could also possibly be that your gas valve needs to be replaced.

Try downloading this doc. Be sure you follow the right model number some are a "T" and some are "TS".
