Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ85U Plasma TV Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 04, 2013

Viera TC-P50ST30 My TV is DOA. No power, sound, etc. No standby light. Confirmed house fuse, batteries, plus, etc. good. Tried unplugging for awhile. Makes a noise when I plug in to powerstrip or directly to wall. Someone said possible short. Pulled back cover. Checked ribbon between power supply and main board. Meter reads 5 when main not plugged into power. Drops to 2-3 when plugged to main. Is that where the short is? Isolated main by disconnecting all other connections to main. Should I just replace main or ? Thanks Sandra

When I try turning on the TV, all i see is a little red (non-blinking) light. Maybe a standby light?

Fault to its main board. No start signal comes from it to power board to get it started. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

No picture or sound on a Panasonic plasma tv tc-p50st30? Replaced power board and still same problem. The power light comes on and stays on. No blinking.

Try to unplug the TV for about 20 minutes and then press and hold power button on the TV for about 10 seconds to reset your television and plug TV back in and see if that resolves the issue. If they problem still is showing up then the screen is broken and the back light is not working anymore and needs to be replaced.

No picture and power light blinks 7 times on my viera tc-p50st30 plasma tv when it is turned on

That can be caused by either the SC or SD board. Contact the people at www.tvrepairworld.com they can assist with proper diagnosis and they also should have the replacement board

I have a panasonic TC-P50ST30 and viera link will not work with my charter HD DVR cable box. I have a HDMI cable connecting them. What can I do?

Unfortunately, your charter HD DVR cable box is not a Viera link device that is compatible with the TC-P50ST30. Viera Link only works to control Panasonic HDAVI devices that are Viera Link ready (and that use the same Viera link coding) when using the HDMI cable. Thus some Viera link devices of different generations will not work with the same Viera link remote.

The manual for the TC-P50ST30 is available here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/TCP42ST30.PDF . See page 32 for details on the Viera link controls.

I wish that I had better news for you. However, you will need to use separate remotes for your cable box and the TV.
