Our Panasonic Viera tv won't turn on. We have unplugged it over night. It was working fine and then after having the tv for 24 hrs it just shut itself off and when we try to turn it on it comes on with a set up menu and whatever channel the cable is set to and stays on for about a second and then the screen goes black and the power button flashes red. We have tried holding the power button down for a couple of seconds and that doesn't help either. Any other help would be wonderful!!!
Same frustrating symptoms on brand new 42inch here! tv just turns itself off sometimes without warning or if changing to certain channels. leaves red light flashing for a while then red light goes away. any attempts with remote gives flashing green liht on tv. manual power off and on restarts tv but auto off again. found while manual power on keep changing channel on remote till stable picture appears. then use remote to shut down tv - solid red light indicates standby mode. then use remote to turn on again... till next time it happens. but what is technical fault??
Possible bad fan or power board Is the red light flashing continuously or is there a code?
The problem for 7 blinks is an Interface board. Had mine fixed yesterday. Apparently there is a glitch in the interface board that sends signals to the television. Basically the glitch shorts out the board and the t.v wont turn on and you will see the power light blink 7 times pause then 7 more. They replaced the board with a new one and updated the software on the new interface board. It works like new and i couldn't be happier to be watching it again. Hope this helps everyone else out.

Turn everything off and disconnect from mains.
Wait a few minutes.
Disconnect HDMI cable.
Turn on TV and DVD.
Connect cable.
If this does not work use a cable of different spec.
I had the same problem and now mine works .
Good luck.

When the SUB5V or MAIN9V/SUB9V, short or over-voltage 15V short condition occurs, the TV shuts down and the power LED blinks 10 times.

1.You may have the magnet of a speaker too close to the TV.
2.Turn off other electrical devices in the house one at a time.
3.Faulty cable.
Puzzler.

Usually answered in minutes!
I have a 50" Viera that is three weeks old that won't turn on at all. The red led does not light on the front power switch. It worked fine in the evening and would not turn on in the AM.
Panasonic Cinema vision PT-51HX42F Similar; powers on but when the tv is about to show the picture it shuts of and the power button blinks red periodically. I tried holding the power button down for a minute or so. Nothing. I can't find any trouble shooting info on this. One repair person said it was probably some unit that will cost me $300 - $500 to fix. I guess Iwill have to call him back. Help!
I have 42 inch panasonic (TH-42PZ700U) that is doing the same thing. It clicks on for second then shuts down and the red light blinks 7 times. How come so many panasonic owners have this same problem but no one seems to have the answer to the problem?
i have the same problem!!! Seems to be frequent with panasonic
my tv was working fine then one day i tried to turn it on and i hear that click.
then the red light flashes 7 times with one pause and starts again. i tried everything and nothing seem to work. when i hold on to the power button for a while i hear a new click and then it seem that the tv has resetted but for only one second. Then i hear that click again and the tv shut off and the blink again. Help!!!! any solution to this?
It automatically turns off and it takes almost 8 hours for it to turn on again without those flashing red lights!
It would seem that there is an issue with the panasonic vieras - I suggest that we all get together and sue the company - they obviously have an inferior product if everyone is suffering from the same problem. Why are they not recalling the product?
The people who have had this repaired - was it covered in a warranty?
please respond
I also have the same problem. Red light flashing and all the rest...only had it for about 4 months. Very disappointing - thought Panasonic was a good brand.
auto reset wont work after trying to restore to factory settings. Was stuck on 1 channel
