Measure the PTO coil resistance with a DMM. I believe the typical resistance for that solenoid type is approximately 75 ohms. Or just compare resistance with the other solenoid in the valve block (4WD?).

SOURCE: 1974 John Deere 2030 diesel tractor and the engine dies

I will assume you have bled the fuel system per the owners manual to ensure no air lock in your system. This is especially critical after replacing the injector pump.

The next step is to ensure you fuel filters are good and flowing and last but probably the problem is the screen on the petcock (fuel shut off) in the fuel tank. Remove this shutoff valve and clean the screen with a fine wire brush and carburetor cleaner.

SOURCE: My John Deere 345 dies for no apparent reason

You have dirt in the fuel tank and it sucks the dirt up on the filter that is attached to the pump. After the machine stalls, the dirt falls off and it will restart and run for a few min.

How to remove clean and replace hydraulic oil filter on a Fiat 411R PTO unit

To remove, clean, and replace the hydraulic oil filter on a Fiat 411R PTO unit, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Locate the filter: The hydraulic oil filter is typically located on the side of the PTO unit, near the bottom. It is often mounted to the side of the unit with a bolt or a clamp.
  2. Prepare to drain the oil: Before you remove the filter, you will need to drain the hydraulic oil from the PTO unit. To do this, locate the oil drain plug or valve and place a drain pan underneath it. Then, loosen the drain plug or valve to allow the oil to drain out.
  3. Remove the filter: Once the oil has drained out, you can remove the filter. To do this, you will need to loosen the bolt or clamp that holds the filter in place. You may need to use a wrench or pliers to do this. Once the bolt or clamp is loosened, you can carefully remove the filter from the PTO unit.
  4. Clean the filter: Once the filter is removed, you will need to clean it. To do this, you can use a degreaser or solvent to remove any dirt or debris from the filter. Once it is clean, you can set it aside.
  5. Replace the filter: Once the filter is clean, you can install the new filter. To do this, simply reverse the steps you used to remove the old filter. Make sure the filter is properly seated and tightened down, and then refill the PTO unit with new hydraulic oil.
It's important to follow the manufacturer's instructions when replacing the hydraulic oil filter on your PTO unit. If you are unsure about any of the steps or have any questions, it's a good idea to consult the manual or contact a mechanic for assistance.

Where is pto over temp relay or sensor located on x495 john deere diesel engine

I worked for Kubota for 10 years and I am not familiar with a PTO temp sensor, John Deere or otherwise. The PTO function has nothing to do with engine other than slight increase in coolant temp when the PTO is under a load. Check for correct Hydraulic oil level(dipstick or sight glass in transaxel) and make sure grass or trash is not packed around the hydraulic oil cooler in front of the radiator. Remove the screen and use compressed air to clean it often. Change hydraulic oil filters every 100 hours

Just rebuilt the hydraulic pump it will lift the arms, but when bush hog attached it will not lift

Could have cut a seal when building it. Could be a bad case. Could be the pressure block/ control valves are bad. Since yours works with little pressure. I would go after the control valves/block

Pto on our 165 massey furguson will not turn fast enough to run bush hog can anyone trouble shoot?

Hi Lynn:
The speed of the PTO on every tractor I've owned has been directly related to engine RPM and there has been no other way to change it.
Did your bush hog work with it at one time? If it did, what has changed since then? That might give an indication of a possible fix. It may be that the tractor and bush hog are not compatible.
