I have a Kyocera FS-2000D printer that will not print

I have a Kyocera FS-2000D printer. It will not print due to an error message "close top cover". The cover is closed! I have already checked the toner cartridge and all other covers, doors, etc. Everything is in place, however this error message remains. I can't delete the message, therefore I can't access the built in help system.

Kyocera FS-2000D is giving me the following error message "close the top cover"

There could be a few reasons why your Kyocera FS-2000D is giving you the "close the top cover" error message even though the cover is closed. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the top cover switch: There is a switch located near the hinge of the top cover that tells the printer when the cover is closed. If this switch is stuck or malfunctioning, it can cause the error message. Try cleaning the switch or replacing it if necessary.
  2. Check the toner cartridge: Sometimes, if the toner cartridge is not seated properly, it can cause the printer to think that the top cover is not closed. Try removing and reinserting the toner cartridge to see if that helps.
  3. Check the firmware: In some cases, a firmware update can fix issues with the top cover sensor. Check the Kyocera website for any available firmware updates and follow the instructions to install them.
If none of these solutions work, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with the printer that will require professional repair.

Close top cover error message

Open the top cover.

At the lest side there is a hole. You can see a rocker switch in it, try to bend up the moving metal side of it.

What's more try to squeeze the side cover by hand.

It will do!

The same was with mine. Feel free to ask, if it wasn't solved your problem.

7410 is an error (all numbers following : is the number of pages printed.

- indicating the Drum Unit is not installed properly or you have a defective curcit board. Tyoically it is drum drum is not fully seated.

If you open the door on the left hand side of the printer, where your waste toner container goes and press firmaly on the drum which is loacted behind the waste toner container and close the printer backup. If the drum is properly seated the error should close.

I hope this is helpful,

I have a kyocera FS-2000D with error code: Call for service 0150:0000049. Help...thanks in advance

Error code 0150 is an engine EEPROM communication error. The engine board might need to be replaced. I have heard that sometimes a defective developer unit could cause this same error code. I would try swaping a develper from a working FS-2000D first.
