When the battery goes flat on a rapide the windows are up. The doors are frameless so the windows are located in the seals in the door aperture. You cannot open the doors and you cannot open the boot. Look through the front grille towards the radiator with a torch and you will see the bonnet release cable outer sheath. If you pull the outer sheath it will put enough tension on the cable to release the bonnet catch. With the bonnet open you can charge the battery. Negative clip on the alternator casing and positive clip on the central charging stud.
Sounds like the battery went dead with the security system on. This means you cannot pull bonnet handle.
To release the bonnet, buy a male-2-male cigarette lighter cable at any auto part store. Connect the cable between the two cars. (WARNING: Do not try to start the car with this configuration.) Unlock the door with the key and the bonnet should open. Now you can service or jumper the battery.
Note: Some porsches also have a red pull-out jumper by the fuse box.
call tow truck so they can use a slim jim to open the door without power then have him jump it and take it to auto zone and have the battery tested for free and the altanator, may need cleaning or something got left on.
find bonnet catch and while someone pushes down on bonnet, pull the cable from behind the release lever (normally a black plastic covered wire) either the cable has siezed or the outer cable has sliped out of its retaining plate, if cable has broke, then access from under car with long rod to push lever over, again someone lightly pushing on bonnet will make it eaiser
Hi
If you open fusebox in footwell there is a RED section you pull out by fuse removal tool-this can be used as a permenant feed for a battery jump pack-red lead on the Red in fusebox and black on door check strap this will give you power to open front boot to get to battery.
I had same problem with my 2002 CLK430. Dead battery with car locked. You can't open doors with the mechanical key (inside remote key), as windows need power to slide down slightly to allow clearance, so you can't access the hood release. The answer is to insert the mechanical key in the key hole for the trunk (boot). It will only go in one way, with the slightly larger grip part down. I found it easiest to turn with a pair of flat nosed pliers. Turn counterclockwise to the left to to the 11 o'clock position. Then push the release in and the trunk will open. Battery is located in the right rear quarter under the flooring panel that also covers spare tire. Hook up charger or jumper cables and power will come back on, as will alarm. To disable, just push the unlock button on the remote key. You should be good to go from here!
Reach over the drivers side front tire in wheel well. Reach around trim in upper wheel well to find a cable, running front to back, pull toward you and it should release the front hood. Previous owner showed me this emergency release in case battery goes dead and I have recently had to use it myself on my 1998 Boxster.
