I bought this dvd player because 99% of my daughter's dvds are from Brazil and it is a way to use both languages at home, however it is giving me disc error in some dvds, wrong region, or bad disc but I can play them at other dvd player that are also region free. Do I need to unlock something with a code? Any help is appreciated. Tks Solange
Below is a process to unlock the region's in that DVD player. There were a few methods try this one and post back letting me know how it goes.
1. Remove any disc in the tray.
2. Using the remote, turn the power off.
3. Turn the power on.
3. Open the empty tray.
4. Close the empty tray and wait until the player recognizes there is no disc in the tray.
5. Press "Menu, 1, 9".
6. A large rectangular area will appear in the bottom half of the
screen; in the middle of the rectangle will be a single number that
identifies the region to which the player is set.
7. Pressing the number keys on the remote will have no effect.
Instead, use the up or down arrows above and below the "enter" button
to change the region number. ("0" presumably is "region free".)
8. Once you have selected the region code (i.e., the number that now appears in the middle of the rectangle) press "enter".
9. Press the "opne/Close" button and the unit will save the selected code.
Hope this works let me know .Thank you for choosing Fixya! Feel free to leave a positive rating if this solution helps.
Ost of the Blu-ray and DVD players are region-locked. So you may need to bypass the region code by changing the region code, or a region-free Blu-ray DVD player will suffice it.
