Was there any shimms between starter and engine block, where it bolts up? If there was they need to be put back in. Sounds to me that the starter is to close to the block, and the teeth on the starter drive are not engaging the flywheel. If there was none get some and try it, any auto parts sell them they come in differnt sizes in thousands of an inch. You should be able to buy them in a package.

Anti-theft system has nothing to do with it . Battery cables , maybe , Park neutral safety switch possibly ! With anti-theft system problem you wouldn't a click or anything , that is if the anti-theft disables fuel or the starter . Plus the SECURITY light would be on if it were a anti-theft system problem . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop that knows how to do starter circuit testing > Starter Voltage Drop How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
And what's this
identity anti theft system ? No such thing !
The vehicle has a content theft an vehicle theft deterrent system !
This system disables fuel not cranking of the engine. The VCM/PCM will not disable the fuel due to any BCM message for the remainder of the ignition cycle.
If the VCM/PCM does not receive the same password from the BCM as the last learned one, the vehicle will start and then stalls due to the Fuel Lockout.
sounds like a starter solenoid went bad which it is easier to replace the whole starter assembly then just the solenoid and you can get one with a LLT Limited Life Time warranty.
Yes i have several solutions since you replace the battery then its not that. Go to a autozone and get the starter tested it is free if it comes up bad it is the starter. If not that then definititly the alternator.
Starter drive not engaging fully . Sticky or worn, but don't think changing thermostat had anything to do with it. Try having starter drive inspected & lubed if possible , but you may end up with new starter.
