Reset the controller by flipping the controller over and looking at the middle of the controller, and closer to the L2 button is a small hole next to a larger one. Unfold a paperclip or something alike and poke it into the whole. Reconnect the controller to the ps3 by using a usb cable and you're done.

Can't pair any controller to my Playstation 3

It sounds like you are having trouble getting your PS3 controllers to sync with your PS3 console. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:
 1. Make sure that the controllers are charged. If the controllers' batteries are low, they may not be able to sync with the console.
 2. Reset the controllers. To reset a PS3 controller, turn it over and locate the small hole on the back. Use a small object (such as a paperclip) to press and hold the reset button inside the hole for about 5 seconds, until the lights on the controller flash.
 3. Check that the controllers are compatible with your PS3 console. The controllers should be compatible with most PS3 models, but it's worth double-checking to make sure.
 4. Make sure that the controllers are within range of the console. The controllers should be within a few feet of the console to establish a connection.
 5. If you are using a wireless adapter to connect the controllers to the console, make sure that the adapter is properly connected and working.
If you have tried these troubleshooting steps and are still having trouble syncing your controllers, it's possible that there may be a problem with the console's Bluetooth hardware. In this case, it may be necessary to repair or replace the console.
To reset the PS3 without clearing your data, you can try rebuilding the database. This process will not delete any of your saved data, but it may help to resolve any issues with the console's performance. To rebuild the database, follow these steps:
 1. Turn off the PS3 by holding the power button until the power indicator is off.
 2. Press and hold the power button until you hear two beeps: one when you first press, and another seven seconds later.
 3. Release the power button. The PS3 will start in safe mode.
 4. Use the left joystick to select "Rebuild Database" and press the X button.
 5. Select "Yes" to confirm and start the rebuild process.

Sync a ps3 controller to a diffrent ps3

Using a PS3 controller charge cable (the cable that connects your controller to a USB port on a PS3), connect the PS3 controller to the console you wish to sync it with. With the cable still inserted, press the PS button in the center of the ps3 controller. The lights on the PS3 controller will flash for a moment, and then a controller number will be assigned to the new controller.Your PS3 controller is now synced to the console, and you can unplug the charge cable. Repeat these steps when you want to sync your controller with a different console. If you ever need to reset the Bluetooth connection of a PS3 controller entirely, locate the small pinhole on the back of the controller. By using a paper clip or other thin object to press the button inside this pinhole, you can reset your controller and its Bluetooth connection.

I can't find the reset butonon my playstation 3 please. help.

PS3 does not have a reset button as far as I know. Although the PS3 controller does have the reset button on the underside. It's there if your controller lost its connection to the PS3.

If you want to change from HDMI to Scart you need to press and hold the power button while it's off, than a blue light will turn on on your ps3 and you can stop holding.

PS3 controller disconnects while playing games or watching DVD's. Have tried leaving it plugged into the usb port all the time - still disconnects. I then have to reboot the console to get the controller...

Check the controller settings under,

SETTINGS, Powe Save Settings, Controller Auto-Off

If that doesn't work try performing a hard reset on the controller like this:

Flip the controller over, and press the reset button. It's to the right of the middle-top screw ps3_controller_reset.jpg. You'll need something like a paperclip, toothpick, or something similar to push the button. Once you've reset your controller, connect it to your PS3 with a handy USB cable, and press the PS button (just like you did when you first got the controller). Now, it is paired again, and you should be OK.
