My TV (JVC model AV32982) will shut off by itself.

The TV will be working fine and then it shuts off by itself. I unplug the power cord and leave it alone for a while, the longer the better, then plug it back and it will turn on by itself. It will then stay on, sometimes longer and sometimes shorter times. I hear some clicking, the same sound as when the TV is turned on like a relay or something and it shuts off. The TV was made in 1996 and I had it repaired after it would not turn on. The TV worked fine after the repair for about a year then the trouble started. Instead of sending to be repaired again I just bought another one but still use this one until I get tired of unpluging and pluging it back. It has a good picture and works fine until it shuts itself off.

Power up problem

The problem is in the relay built into the power supply. It is magneticly sticking into the off position. Unplugging it kills the field and let's it set back to a neutral position. I doubt the relay is serviceable by itself.
Probably need a new power supply.

How do i shut off the timer on my jvc tv

HI...I have the same problem and I am trying this today (Expert advice on forum) ... Hope it works!

Try unplugging the power cord of your T.V. for 1-4 hours for a "HARD RE-SET".
If T.V. does not work normally after this, then you'll need parts/repiars. (Internal circuit/voltage problem).

Best of Luck!
I will know if it works for me in about 2 hours!
Ciao!

Is pix ok before shutdown?

If convergence is wildly misaligned then load may be shutting down power supply. Fix convergence and TV OK.

JVC tv shut off and won't come back on

It is a power supply problem. As your set is nine years old all the electrolytic capacitors at the power supply area may be out of range. If you are not familiar with electronic repairs it is bettter to take to service center to check and decide according the cost you will asked.
