Replacement screen My screen when turned on displays a line of dots across it so I am worried this will show on any recordings I do or pictures I take does this need a new screen

You could try removing the display device in device manager then rebooting. At boot up windows will reinstall the drivers.
Check for new display drivers at Dell's support site.

Sorry to say but this is a sign of a faulty LCD display. The white lines are caused by a defective transistor on the display that is either stuck on or off causing all of the pixels of that line to be turned on or off. The LCD display can be replaced. More info can be found here:

maybe did you try it with skype or an IM application?

might need new drivers for that from www.sony.com

It's a connection inside the TV that's faulty. It could be as simple as reseating the ribbon cables that connect the control board to the glass display. Or it could be that the fault is on the board and needs to be replaced. The fact that the problem comes and goes should tell you it's fixable.

Hi , Do not panic ,It is to do with the display driver which you need to reinstall.

Bring up the menu and if the lines are not on the menu replace the small signal board that is your video prossor. If the lines are still the replace the Y main board that contrl the top half of the screen.

The filename (e.g. DSC0012.jpg) shows the image number, the filespec shows the date and time recorded. Most software will give you document info about resolution of the image. I wouldn't worry about what the battery status was when the shot was taken or how many other images were on the Mstick. I guess I'm not sure what you need.
