Lg flatron w2234s monitor is flashing ??

My monitor is just tuning itself off every 5 seconds, like literall, im really getting sick of it, i dont have a spare monitor to test the wires, and when it turns off, straight away the blue power light on the monitor goes off, then quickly back on with the rest of the screen, coming after it, this is wt its like, d.i.y click the power button on ur monitor, then quickly press it back on, do this after 5 seconds each time, now imagine that every 5 seconds without actually touching the button,im not pressing anything when this happens, but even when i press a button it goes off, regardless of wt im doing, plz help me I have the same issues with my W2234S.
It is 3 months old and works fine for a period of time.
Then the monitor begins flashing. Sometimes it will turn itself on and off 6-7 times in approx 5 minutes. Then it will work fine for an hour or two.
Then it will do the rapid turning on and off.

No, it doesn't happen when I boot up. It works normally.
Sometimes the flashing starts within a half hour of operation, sometimes it will work for 7 hours without doing it.
This is crazy. I went to LG site and nothing there to work with.
If someone could respond it would be muchly appreciated.

I am going to suggest if it's only 3 months old you should take it back to where you bought it. Mine quit working right a few weeks after I bought it and they gave me a new one. Be sure you take your receipt with you. Even new things can mess up.

SOURCE: No picture lg flatron w2234s blinking blue light

Hi My screen developed exactly the same problem. It appears to be a hardwear problem associated with the screen it's self. continuity test is ok on the lead so I took it back to the shop under warranty and hey presto, the replacement works. I don't know what the problem is but there are a number of other folks on another thread with the same problem and their entries are dated May 09 too.  Dave

SOURCE: lg flatron w2234s monitor is flashing ??

Hi,
The problem is the VGA part of the moniter is playing up. Two areas, one the MCU on the vga card, the other is a faulty transistor on the vga card. Repairs on a PCB VGA circuit are impossible with out the right tools.
The part number you require are Manufacturer Part Number EBU59489401
Board Numbers 791501300700R
For a replacement card
if no warrenty
Some thimes the 5 sec can be 20 to 30mins.

Try changing the Resolution for the lowest one, if it works it will see the letters and everything very big. I have same trouble, specially since I change the original Vista Starter for the new Windows 7, I have not found a free controler that helps me and I have seen many people with same the problem. Sorry for my english.

Hello, I have a LG flatron w2234s and a week ago the screen started to shut down on its own while i'm using the computer or when it goes to sleep mode. The screen gives me the LG sign and just turns off...

First try it on another Pc, you'll know the root of the problem. If there's no problem on another pc then the problem would be with your video card/motherboard. If the problem is still the same on another Pc, then your monitor has internal problem. You better call up a technician, he/she will check it for you, must be Pcb problem. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Moniter transitions to LG logo

Check the cable and make sure it is plugged in securely at both the monitor and PC. If the cable is connected properly, then the problem must be in the monitor itself. You could try setting the input mode manually on the monitor - the default should be auto - you could set it to VGA or DVI whichever your case is and see if it helps.
