Batteries must come out of both the temperature sensor (transmitter) and base (clock and temperature display). Leave out for about 4 minutes. Replace the batteries in the temperature sensor FIRST and set it about 5 - 10 feet away from the base. Replace the batteries in the base and leave them both set without touching any buttons for at least 15 minutes (usually only takes 5 minutes or so). The temperature should start to display. You can set the clock manually to the correct time and have it get the updates via radio in the evening or night. Should work after all this just fine. (have done it alot of times this way over the years)

Good luck.

ANY time you repower your atomic clock base unit, any remote sensors must display data on your base unit display BEFORE you can touch or adjust any base unit display setting buttons or your sensors will never connect to your base unit!

There is a specific procedure that must be followed for linking sensors to your atomic clock:

Step 1. If you need to replace the remote sensor's batteries, do this FIRST. Disconnect any corded power to the sensor and replace sensor's batteries, Then reconnect any corded power supply.

Step 2. After completing Step 1, remove the batteries and/or power supply in the base display unit.

Step 3. After at least 30 seconds, reinstall batteries and/or power supply in base display unit. DO NOT TOUCH ANY SETTING BUTTONS ON THE BASE UNIT!

Step 4. Wait up to 1 hour for the remote sensor(s) and base display unit to synchronize and wirelessly connect. Once you see ALL your sensors display their data on the base unit display you can continue to Step 5.

Step 5. With sensor(s) synchronized (displaying data) to the base display unit, you can now continue to use the base unit display setting buttons to customize your clock to your personal display preferences.

How do I set my sharp atomic clock. Put in new batteries and set time and date on back of clock but the outside temp is not registering?

That makes scence, you have to have an outside temperature probe. If it is wireless it also needs batteries. Check manual for more details.

My oregon scientific indoor outdoor weather station with atomic clock just stopped picking up the outdoor readings, it won't switch to that channel any longer. tried removing and reinstalling the battery,...

I had the same problem, Since the outside temp wouldn't read, I figured it was the outside unit batteries. Went through half a dozen AAA batteries and wouldn't read. It was the indoor unit. Had the same bats I installed 3 years ago. DUH! Replaced the AAA, and all was well. When the inside batteries die out, it has just enough juice to read indoor temp, but not enought to sense exterior signal.

I have a skyscan atomic clock, model 88900. I've absoltely LOVED it until the outside temperature quit being displayed. I have changed the batteries 2x's according to the instructions and have used NEW...

This is a very common problem that is most frequently caused by the outdoor transmitter going bad. They are surprisingly delicate and don't like getting wet.

You can order replacement transmitters from http://skyscan.info/content/

They only cost $11 and that includes shipping and handling.

After replacing the transmitter batteries several times, I tried replacing the clock batteries. They must have been getting low. Once I put in new batteries in the clock it worked fine. Good Luck.

Resetting the atomic clock to the correct time zone, and outside temp to work.

For the Sharp SPC374T Atomic Clock - Time Zone setting- Press the 'Time' button once, the time zone will show where 'Day' usually is, use the Up or Down buttong to adjust.

For the outdoor Thermo, credit to my neighbor for this one. Remove battery from main unit, wait 2-3 minutes. Reload batteries. Once you get a reading from the outdoor sensor, hit the reset on the main unit. You will have to reset the time zone as described above, but this worked for me after 10 months of no outside temp showing up!

Good luck,
