I want to preset radio stations and being able to manage the clock
SOURCE: jvc car cd/radio
The radio was improperly installed; there are two 12V leads, one services the radio when on, the other, only the circuitry for the clock and presets.
Eventually, this shouldn't be needed if the manufacturers ever think about using a little bit of flash memory for the presets and a coin cell for the clock.
You didn't give any model number so researching the manual is impossible.
If you can find the model number, look for a user's (or installation) guide on line to find the wiring info.

SOURCE: Radio Station Presets wont hold
hi girlygirl 1
the problem is your ignition and your permanant battery live wires are the wrong way round all you have to do is remove the stereo and you will usually see a red wire plug into another red wire and a yellow wire into another yellow wire all you have to do is change the red to the yellow and the yellow to the red and it will hold the memories fine hope that helps !
SOURCE: Manual for a car radio
Your best bet would be to look on JVC.com I bought a JVC head unit from a friend, and i printed out a manual on the jvc website, and it was free
1 Select the radio band and tune in a desired radio
station you wish to store in the preset memory.
2 Press (PRESET).
The Preset screen is displayed.
3 Rotate the Double Action encoder to select the
preset number.
4 Press and hold /ENTER for at least 2 seconds.
The selected station is stored.
The display shows the band, preset number and station
frequency memorized.
ā¢ A total of 18 stations can be stored in the preset memory (6 stations
for each band; FM1, FM2 and AM).
ā¢ If you store a station in a preset memory which already has a station,
the current station will be cleared and replaced with the new station.
ā¢ Press in the outer ring and rotate the Double Action encoder to the
left or right on the Preset screen, you can switch the Preset screen of
another band.
FM-1 FM-2 AM FM-1
You can also change the desired radio band by pressing BAND.
Hope this helps.
