What are the file formats you are trying to burn? Are they copyrighted ? You can download Windows Media Player and many more freeware programs at FILEHIPPO : http://www.filehippo.com/. Look under "Audio and Video". That said is your laptop equiped with a DVD/CD burner? I was lookin at the specs: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/10826_div/10826_div.html It doesn't say you have a CD burner , ony a CD rom drive. That does not mean you don't have one. Open My Computer and right click on the CD ron , Properties, and Google the model of CD rom.
If your computer cannot burn CD's (try to burn any file to it) then it's probably gone bad and will have to be replaced. If Media Player is the only app that will not burn the files, perhaps you need to download the latest version of Media Player. Or, perhaps, uninstall it and reinstall it.
It might be that your Laptop is not seeing the CD drive in the Device manager this happens sometimes the best quick fix is to use Doug Knox excellent tool to restore the drives in Device manager.
this will re-establish the drives within the system if they are missing this sometimes happens with CD burning applications and this will fix it for you .
Hi, Perform a system restore and take the computer back to a time before the problems started with burning, or you can download a different media player and try burning with that, real player as a good bit of software to use for burning and Nero is too (Nero is a devoted burning suite)
In REGEDIT starts, open up the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class/
{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
4. In {4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} if you see two settings on the right-hand side:
"Upperfilters"
"Lowerfilters"
Click on each of them, press DELETE and confirm
Delete also if you see either of two entries.(only upper or only Lower....filter) Restart Windows and your drive is there. Let me know if you need any more support. If proplem repeat remove any CD burning SW you installed. (Nero, etc)
Hello, this is more than likely the media you're using. The best to use for this are verbatim-r or taiyo yuden-r dvds. Also, could be your burner. Imgburner is the most popular one used which is free
