SOURCE: have no power to my

Hello
If you have checked the power cord and found Ok, then check its two ends connected with the device, with a multimeter, ser in KOhms range, and see whether there is any continuity or not. If not either fuse inside it or its mains transformer is damaged. If found no continuity, open your set with care, and check the fuse first. You can locate it very near to the AC inlet of that device. In some JVC sets, a thermal fuse, built inside the mains transofrmer, is there, will gets opened, when the transformer overheats. It will be there between the primary and secondary windings, sandwiched inot the transformer and can be replaced. These are the possible causes that you described here; as no power is entering into the device.
Check these first. If you wants furthermore assistance, feel free to contact me through Fixya.
Ok.

SOURCE: someone lost the power cord

There's probably nothing special about the original power cord, so I'd go to Radio Shack and get it for $8

Or you may have an unused one from other device lying around the house.

SOURCE: JVC RV-B90 Boombox,How many watts

If you can believe what they say about the specs...

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/JVC-RV-B90GYJ-manual/id/316ag201/t/2/

Bear in mind the power spec is at >>>> 10% <<<< THD without any bandwidht specified. THAT's a lot of distortion stated in a meaningless fashion to convince you to part with the money.

If one looks at the power CONSUMPTION figure (43 watts), one can conclude that the audio power spec is totally fabricated. NO device puts out more power than it consumes.

That is not to say it won't sound good and loud in certain settings and conditions, but this is not, say, a Bose Acoustic Wave Music System. After a certain volume demand it will just be annoying instead of entertaining. That's why they called this class of product a Ghetto Blaster.

I see one sold for $70 last year...

Hello i have a jvc rv b 90 . Ive insert the casette wrong. Now i cant open the casette deck anymore.

Hello
Casette tape can be reeled to the capstan shaft and jammed. It is a tricky way to get it out. Only an experienced service technician can do this work. If you try to pull the casette hold tray out by force, it will get broken, and will turn irreparable. OK.

Remote control

It appears you MUST have the remote. It's on page 27 of the manual:

Remote control

You need to resurface the contacts. Here's how you do it:
First, disassemble the remote. Clean the black foil pads on the circuit board with rubbing alcohol. Now take a #2 pencil and a razor and shave the graphite from the "lead" onto a piece of paper (hold the blade perpendicular to the lead, this results in a finer powder). Now that you have a nice pile of powdered graphite, blot a Q-Tip into it to saturate the cotton with graphite. Rub the graphite onto the little black pads on the rubber button membrane, and be sure to apply more graphite to the Q-Tip every 2 to 3 buttons. Blow off any excess graphite. reassemble remote and test.
