O.K. this is really odd. My machine is 1.5 years old and of course out of warranty. I place it on normal/colors to run a load and the machine washes the load until it gets to 21 estimated minutes remaining. It will unlock the door and the start pause/button will flash. I will push the button to restart the time it will rinse the cloths but no spinning. The same problem will occur at 11 estimated minutes remaining and I will again push the start /pause button it will rinse and not spin all the way to one minute keep rinse a. it would go to one minute and rinse unlock the door and the start /pause button will flash and will not spin nor finish the load or go past the 1 min time no matter how many times I push the start / pause button. I have checked the filter and there were coins in the strainer which I removed. I even unplugged the machine for three days. I sill have the same problem. Has anyone had this type of problem, what do I do to correct it?

Problem is that the timer needs to be replaced. Call around and get a price and then decide.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY PERIOD ON MATAG MVWB850WL WASHING MACHINE. WE BOUGHT IT 3/17/11. I AM GETTING F1 AND LF CODES

The warranty period in force when you bought the machine will be stated in the accompanying literature.

Your machine is nearer 7 years old than 6 and it is unlikely to be still under warranty unless insurance underwritten.

Unable to wash a full load

Run a "Washing Machine Cleaner solution" through your machine to clean out built up grime and dirt inside the drum.

You must of course always only load up clothes so that there is good space left for them to move freely. Jammed up clothing will never wash clean.

Use a really good detergent, and my tip is NOT to use fabric softeners as they really gum up the works and cause grime and dirt buildup in places you cannot see! This mucky stuff then finds it way back into the next wash and the next and so on.

Sears gave me an estimate of $1439.65 to repair machine by replacing the following: 1 SUB TUB-OUTE - 213.82 1 GASKET - 12.16 1 SUB TUB-OUTE - 411.91 1 SUB BASKET - 492.69 1 BELT ...

Check your warranty. We just had that problem, with the exact same parts replaced, but the outer tub has a ten year warranty, and the basket a lifetime warranty. We just paid labor and for one belt. Our washer is also almost eight years old.

Smell from water remaining in grey seal

My GE washer model wcvh6400j0ww was leaking. May be standing water under your machine. The repair person thought the gasket. It turned out to be the water in-let pipe (WH41X10118 and you will need seal WH41X10119) and not the gasket. He ordered the gasket and took machine apart to replace and found cracked pipe. Take your machines front off and make sure it is the gasket leaking. Good Luck,

My washing machine is a Whirlpool Model LA5800XS. It came with our condo unit. Its probably about 20 years old and gets only about three month's use each year. Mechanically it runs fine but the cold...

hmmm..that's really odd...is the pressure from the cold water the same as the hot? you can test this first, then we can look at the cold /hot mix system

Washer does not spin

I had the same problem in october- my had a bad wiring harness, some board problem, and a bad sensor. if it hadn't been under warranty the cost of parts alone would have been over 1000bucks.

Loud Knocking

this is a collapsed drum bearing, one of the most costly of the repairs apart from the timer and motor, not normally a job for the diy man unless has an engineering background, sorry, the cost of repair depends on the age and replacement cost of a machine, a bit like a car, would you buy an engine for a 20 year old car, if you have a machine thats expensive then the repair could be worth it? stop running it you will cause more damage both to the clothes and the machine sorry (ps i am a retired appliance engineer of 20 years service)
