Phone is on intercom instead if outside line

How do I program a Panasonic TA824 to be on an outside line instead of the intercom?

When the storm hit, some of your CO service lines were cutt off.Now when you try to cease an idle line. The system tries to pick a line that was previously available but it now cut off.To prove that, pull out the Plugs put in CO ports of the KX-TA824 and plug in a phone to see if you get a tone.Note the CO Line ports in which they were put.Turn off thr lines in the CO Settings that that have no connection.

What exactly do you mean?, do you mean how to cease an outside line to be able to dial out?

  • Anonymous May 27, 2013

Currently I have to press 9 to get an outside line. The phones were programmed to be on an outside line and a storm knocked out the phones. When they came back on they are now on the intercom system.

SOURCE: KX-TA824 Select idle CO line

No. C.O. Line group access is always from high to low. However, you can turn off CO 5&6. In programming command 400.

SOURCE: panasonic kx-t7330 suddenly cannot use intercom and phone calls

I'm guessing the phone is 8 years old and you spilled something into the keystrip.

Start by unplugging it to see if it resets. Then, look for a mechanical failure (sticky buttons, broken buttons, etc.). Some alcohol and a Q-Tip will clean the buttons, or carefully take the phone apart and wash out the housing.

Last, but not least, any of the new 7730/31/35/36 phones will replace that set.

Have a slt connected to my ta824. at factory defaults, if i go off hook on the slt and dial 9, line 1 will be seized. that is what i want but after i loaded my settings into it, 9 no longer accesses line 1...

By default, a TA-824 seizes outside lines from high to low. You can't change that order, but you can dial the 8x code to get each line. As an alternative, in program 400, you disable the lines that don't work, but you'll still select the highest line assigned to the single line port when you dial 9.
I don't know why your PT is different, but when I dial 9 on the intercom of my PT, I also select the top line.

Would you please be able to tell me how to programme a number in this phone.... on a specific button down the side.

What happens when you dial "9" on the intercom? If you get an outside line, then your phone is programmed properly. If you get an empty line, then you need to disable vacant lines in system program 400.

To program the right side buttons for speed dial, press PROGRAM a button on the right side, and dial 9+ the number as you would dial it on an outside line, then STORE.

On the left side, a waste if you're putting speed dial number sin, you dial 29 instead of 9, but normally you reserve them for lines, extensions, and features that require lit buttons. The codes would begin with 0,1 and whatever the magic code for the features are.

I have a Panasonic Keyphone Model: KX-T7750, having problem with alert of intercom/incoming calls. No ring tone but with flash light and intercom light on. May I know how to fix this. Thank you!

Calls are signalled in two ways. First, check the Ringer switch on the left side of the phone. It's a 3 position switch OFF/LO/HI. If the outside lines are blinking the MESSAGE light, then the ringer is probably turned off. If your intercom calls are toning but not ringing, you may have the AUTO ANS light lit. Press it until it's off and intercom calls will either start ringing or send an audible tone.
If it tones, then you have a programming problem where intercom calls are set to tone instead of ring. That's corrected in system programming.

I have attached this cordless to KX-TA824 supporting 2 incoming lines. How can I select which line (CO 1 or CO 2) to call from?

If you start with intercom dial tone, press 81 or 82. If you dial 9 you'll get line 2 before line 1 in normal programming, and if you dial a line that's busy with 8x access codes, you'll get a busy, even if the other line is free.

Of course, you could also RTFM and program the system to function with your TA-824 http://public.carl.airpost.net/Pana/TA-824/UG_TA_0823%5B1%5D.pdf
Starting on page 15 or so of the pdf, after you set up the keys, you'd press the > and 1 or 2 to get to lines 1 or 2 :-)

Everytime that anyone calls the receptionist, her line is busy, How do I correct this issue? Thank you . Panasonic KX-T7630

A couple of ideas. Have the receptionist call you and verify that they are really at the extension you're calling. Then make sure you turn on Call Waiting Intercom on that phone. From the intercom on the reception phone, dial *7311 for Intercom and *7321 for Outside lines.
Now the phone will soft ring and visual indication when you get a second call if you're phone is busy.

If you've mapped a button to ring the receptionist and it's not working, you may have unprogrammed the button. That's reprogrammed by PROGRAM, the button and 1 plus the extrension (usually 101) and STORE or ENTER to save. PROGRAM exits programming.

How do I forward calls to an outside number on a panasonic kx-ta824 system. what is the line access code

Line access codes are the codes you dial from the intercom to get an outside line. 9 works.

Call forwarding to an outside line has to be enabled in system programming either 2.1 in the maintenance console or option 607 in system programming. There's also a timer that allows the CO connection to be maintaned. By default it's 10 minutes.

Once you get the program set up, you can dial 7139xxx-xxx-xxxx#

1 lines is ringing & another is not ringing

Somewhere you should have a programming and operating manual for your phone system. Typically in a Panasonic you turn on CALL WAITING for both Intercom and Outside lines via a code you dial at each phone on the intercom (7311# 7321# for a TA).

This is assuming that the lines are already programmed to ring at the phone.

I bught a kx-ta824, I just have one CO line and i want to put 4 extensions , but i couldn't. I can just recive 1 call and then the line sounds busy.

With one CO line you can only make or receive one external call at a time. You can have extensions connected on intercom calls, but once your CO line is in use, anyone calling in will get a busy signal, as will anyone in the office trying to make an outside call. You'll need additional CO lines if you want to have several outside calls going on at once.

I am unable to clear the call log KX-TA824

You have an INTERCOM button on the phone and you're probably using idle line select on pickup.

Don't pick up the handset, push the intercom button and dial your codes.
