HP 6210 won't scan or copy (prints okay)

Prints from computer, no problem. When scanning, nothing. When copying, paper is drawn into printer but then nothing. Carriage with scanner light does not move. Pressing cancel gives "scan cancelled" or "copy cancelled" message in printer screen but seems to freeze up after that and will not accept any other command from keypad. When problem first appeared, "scanner failure" showed on the printer screen. I reloaded HP software but no difference. I tried semi and full resets but no difference.

    This scanner worked last year when I was here. It seems there is now new software (HP Director) and the scanner no longer works. It prints and copies fine.

Hp 6210 prints a black line down the center of the page. 1st 50 copies okay, then line started.
First diagnose if the line comes when using the doc feeder or the glass. If it only comes when using the doc feeder then you have a small dirt spot on the glass where the page is scanning over the exposure lamp. Just clean it.

Nothing happens when i press scan button
Nothing will happen unless it's connected to a computer with scanning software running. If you want a copy you press copy and it will scan and make a copy, but if you want to scan you need the software to tell it how to scan, what you're scanning, and how to save the scanned image.

HP Officejet 6210 will not copy, scan or fax. It will print documents from the computer. Any attempt to do the other 3 functions results in it being "busy" and cannot cancel, have to power it off.
Well if it is printing,the drivers are working fine.The copying,faxing and scanning mechanism use the same scanner to copy the image.It seems to be a problem with the scanner mechanism on the printer.Try a reset using the # and 6 buttons while plugging in the power cord.If it works well and good.If you want any further support, an online technician from techbuddies can help you for free.For this log on to http://tinyurl.com/m7ghqz

WILL NOT COPY
Dear, after changing the cartridge, printer print a test print. OKAY. Take that test print and put it on the scanner (printed area should on the side of mirror) then press "scan" button on your printer "bottom left". When the light stop fluctuating. Keep out the paper from the scanner. After this Printer will work properly
