Can play games on disks but cannot connect to online games

I am on my third ps3 in 2 weeks. Internet connection is working good but every time I try to play online the system freezes on 'downloading settings' and also freezes on 'split screen' if I try to play with two controllers.The first system did not work at all. The second system worked fine until I turned it off and then it was freezing the same way. The third system worked fine for the first three days and now it does the same thing. I am able to play games from the disk but unable to play online or download demos. I am thinking it might be a setting problem but am not sure. I have run auto setup til now but wonder if there is something I have to set manually.

Try a USB wireless device. If it works, then your internal wireless adapter is bad and can be replaced.

Can I play Scrabble on pc without Internet connection?

You should try a game that you have to download and install, for example Scrabble free.
It is a good one and it is provided at no cost. You don't need Internet connection to play it as it is just like any other PC game.

When I try to load a disk while my Internet connection is enabled the disk freezes while loading, but when Internet connection is disabled it loads and plays fine. Is there a way to fix this so I can load...

i would contact sony and tell them of this problem, perhaps there is a patch on the way to repair this. also you may want to load game while offline and then when loaded sign in to the playstation network. this some times happens due to high traffic volume such as with gt5.

Game disconnection has something to do with the quality of your internet connection. You might have bad ping or latency thus causing disconnection. Player hosts that you are playing with also has something to do with connectivity because they might have bad connections too. You might want to have your ISP check your internet connection stability. Also, if you are using WiFi... try getting better connection signal.

How to work ps2 internet gameing

You need to use a disk of a game that can be played online. Typically, the game should have online game option in the main menu. The first time you try to use that option, you will be guided through a number of steps to configure your internet connection, which will be saved on the memory cartridge. Be aware that the server you will be connecting to may no longer host the online game, so be sure to check that will not be the case for your particular game.

Ps3 cod4 downloading game settings then i cant play

1-turn off game console..............2-disconnect router for 20 seconds then reconnect............3-turn on game console..............4-go to setting click on network setting.................5-go to internet connection and press X and disable the connection wait 10 seconds and renable the connection and cod4 should work fine on line.............................

My son has problems playing on line and blames the internet provider ( orange) would it work better with another internet provider ?

for playing games online and in real time you need a good internet connection with good download and upload speeds..a speed of 1MBPS should be quite good..do find out from Orange what speed they are giving..or check the speed in http://speedtest.net/..also if other applications are connected to the internet can affect speed and quality..like other network computers,downloads etc..if the speed is less you can always change the internet plan..some ISP are quite game friendly eg for Xbox live..hope it helps!

gucciskills, this is a common problem if you have other people using your home internet connection at the same time. I have that problem every now and then even with no one on the home PC. It just means you are losing your connection. Try and reconfigure your router setting and see if that helps.

WIRELESS ADAPTER

Do you have a third party intercooler attatched? If so, try removing it and trying again. Recently had this trouble on a friend's xbox! If it starts to work again, the intercooler can be re-attatched without any future issues. Hope this helps!
