Press the volume + and channel - buttons at the same time for about 5 seconds. It must make it into service mode. But, what are you intended to do after entering this mode? There will be a special screen display, that will not resemble to normal user menu. Any data value set here should be changed very carefully. Improper data setting to this mode, might even make TV iresponsive to any external signals, means, the TV has gone for ever. If you do not know anything about this mode, and adjustments, never enter into it. Let it do by any experienced service technician. For more procedure to get into service mode and to make adjustments, check this link, if you wish.http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Testimonial: "I tried and it didnt work, here are the steps I followed: 1.Turned off the TV 2.Unplugged the TV 3. Pressed down both Vol+ and Ch- buttons (On the TV not the remote) while plugging in the TV for 5 seconds Nothing happened, also tried: 1.Turned on the TV 2.Pressed Vol+ and Ch- (On the TV not the remote) at the same time for 5 seconds Still nothing :( I just want to see if I can disable the HDMI overscan I will ignore all other settings. If I get in there and its something I cant handle I wont change anything and just exit the Service menu."

Sanyo DP22640 television that has shrunk on both sides?

If you have already tried replacing the mainboard and it did not fix the issue, then the problem may not be related to the board. Here are a few other potential causes for a TV screen to shrink on both sides:
  1. Picture settings: Check your TV's picture settings to ensure that the aspect ratio is set correctly. If the aspect ratio is set to "zoom" or "wide," it can cause the picture to appear smaller on both sides.
  2. Overscan: Some TVs have a feature called "overscan" that can cause the edges of the picture to be cut off. Check your TV's settings to see if there is an overscan option, and if so, turn it off.
  3. Defective panel: If neither of the above solutions works, it's possible that the issue is with the TV's panel itself. In this case, you may need to have the TV professionally serviced or replaced.
It's also worth noting that shrinking on both sides can sometimes be a normal behavior for certain types of content, such as older movies or TV shows that were originally shot in a different aspect ratio. In this case, the content may simply be displaying as intended.

Manual for Sanyo CS-9028iT

The CS-9028iT remote control isn't one that I can find a reference for. The CS-902831T was a standard accessory with several Sanyo televisions models. One of which was the Sanyo DP42410. The manual for this TV is available here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/261846/Sanyo-Dp42410.html . The page on using the remote control is available here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/261846/Sanyo-Dp42410.html?page=9#manual .

I hope this helps.

How do I enter the service menu on an Emerson EWF2004 CRT Television? (Pictures of the OVERSCAN ISSUE will be provided if needed.)

Older sets had vertical and horizontal size controls. If you have the horizontal size control, turning it counterclockwise will reduce the size of the picture horizontally and reduce the overscan.

Sanyo DP42410. Everytime i turn the tv on/off it's like i'm plugging it in for the first time. I Have to set up Home or Store, etc. All the settings. We just got the tv. Set everything up, and when we turn...

I had to call Sanyo on this same problem, and I just wanted to help you out on this. When you turn on the the TV and it asks for home or store, chose home then do the channel scan. After the channel scan completes, switch to your tv source, hdmi1, then turn off the tv and back on and it should just go straight back to hdmi1. Let me Know if this works!

AOC monitor 2436vh does not fill the screen using the HDMI connector. There is a 1 inch black border around the window. Controls to stretch the display are locked out (not accessible) when using that...

The "Best Solution" fixes a problem that is unrelated to the original poster. anononline19's solution is to fix the entire OSD being locked (displays OSD Locked when the menu button is pressed).

Original poster's problem can be fixed by changing your graphics card's "overscan" settings.

Overscan on ATI cards:

Overscan on nVidia cards is currently not supported.

Panasonic viera doesn't display computer correctly

I have had what is fundamentally the same problem. I have a desktop PC that I am plugging in to my Panasonic Viera TX-32LZD80. I am using DVI connection plugged in to HDMI port.

The solution is fairly simple; use the Menu button on the TV remote to get to the Main Menu for the TV and then select Setup which should be the fourth of four options. This will get you to the Setup Menu for the TV for the current channel. Look for the Picture Overscan option, it will very probably be set to On if you have the problem of %5 or so of display being missing on all sides.

Switch Picture Overscan to Off.

This immediately should solve your problem. A note of warning on this is that I suspected this was the problem but when I first looked at the Setup Menu I could not find the Picture Overscan option.

If you are unable to find the Picture Overscan option then trying fiddling with the Aspect settings. You will probably find it set to Auto. Switch it to 16:9 and you should find the Picture Overscan option will be available from the Setup Menu.

Hope it works for you.

Overscan Problem

Switch to that input, and run the Auto Convergence for that input (Setup menu on the TV, Convergence). Convergence settings save for that particular input.
