Drain your Gas out and mix up fresh Gas Mix and then it should run, Your old gas is only good for about 4-6 weeks because of the ethanol in it., you might have to possibly clean your carb. and change fuel filter, but would try fresh mix gas first

I own a stihl fs-55 brush cutter, every time I start the engine I have to remove and clean the spark plug. Any ideas what's causing this.

If your spark plug is a whitish color I would change out the coil. It should only cost around $30-40 and with the age and the time of year you use it i would suspect a coil. At some point moisture has gotten into the coil windings or the path of spark and fried it is what it sounds like. Probably giving you a weak spark and causing a whitish color on your plug
OR...and sounds more like the problem ...
your plug is covered in a black soot. It is carbon buildup....service your valves...You probably have carbon build up on your valves as well as they are probably out of adjustment. Good luck

Husqvarna 235r brush cutter starts fine when cold but won't start when hot

If it has spark and fuel then it may be worn, causing low compression and too weak to start. .

I want to check if a makita rbc 230 brush wood cutter runs on petrol (neat) or two stroke mixture

I think the model your speaking of is the RBC30. It is a 2 stroke mixture. The 430 models are 4 stroke and do not require mixing oil and fuel. They are made by Ryobi for Makita.

Here is the RBC 30

RBC30SESA
  • Powerful 30cc 2-Stroke Petrol Engine
  • Easy-Start Carburettor
  • Expand-It™ Attachments Compatible
  • 18"/46cm Cutting Path Width
  • 2 Year Domestic Warranty
Info on the 430

RYRBC430SES
  • New 4 Stroke Design
  • Light in Weight 7.3kg
  • Safe Anti-kick Feature
  • Reduced Noise Levels, Lower Emissions
  • 2 Year Warranty
This is pretty much the entire line up of their brush cutters:

There is not a 230 model.

Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Poor running

sounds like the card needs to be cleaned thoroughly.

The upper shaft on mine gets really hot also.

You need to regrease the inside of the shaft, basicly it just has a square flex cable going from the motor to trimmer head and if it is not well lubricated inside the shaft the friction will create a lot of heat.

It'll be a tedeous process of getting grease into it, but that should take care of the problem.

Stihl FS 110 brush cutter loop trimmer ''weed eater'' won't start. I've changed gas and spark plugs and it still won't start. Tool is 5 years old. Help! D.W. from NC

Check the fuel filter, you are not getting fuel so therefore the spark is not getting anything. You can also take some carb cleaner and clean your carb. This is a common carb issue and it needs either a new filter(recommend) and also some carb cleaner shot through the system

Cleaning inside the cutter

I've been using my Champion for about 20 years, and have always used a very thin coat of olive oil on the turn shaft before sliding the cutter on. I've also used it before I've used the grain mill, and it has been fine.
If I were you, I think I would get out as much Crisco as I could with a chopstick (or something similar), put in some liquid soap, and some hot water. I would think that would loosen anything that was compressed or stuck. It might take a few times, but that's what I would try....or you could order a new cutter from Champion. I've had to order parts from them in the past, and they have been great.
Hope this helps.....
