According to Sears website the part number for this collet is 300618002. when I put those numbers into the google search bar, I get 1/4 inch collet for ryobe, milwalke and ridig. Does thie mean if I purchase the ryobe one, it will fit my craftsman? Sears wants $45 for it, but ryobe wants $15 (if i recall correctly). I do have a 1/2 inch collet for the same router, do they sell a 1/4 inch insert that can be used with the 1/2 inch collet
Collets can be found on amazon, here: Amazon com craftsman router collet. I hope this was helpful. Cheers
Pssssssttt ( ya wanna know a secret?) When you buy a product from Sears, they make nothing. They have things made to their specs by other manufacturers. So what are the odds you searched a part number and came up with the exact same item made by somebody else? More interesting - Ryobi started as a die cast business in 1943 and Milwaukee has been around since 1924. Do you think they might make parts for each other or did Ryobi ( Japanese Co who has a manufacturing facility in China) make a cheaper part that uses the same number on purpose? I think you might be pretty safe with the cheaper part. Good Luck, this should Fixya!
I also need a 1/4 collet for a craftsman Part # 982890-02. where can I get one??? Len [email protected]
