If you don't remember the Palm password, you'll have to do a hard reset, which will erase all of the data.

Then, please download the latest Palm Desktop version from Palm.com and install it on your system.

After both of these steps, you should be able to sync.

I have a new Tungsten E Handheld but no installation CD. Can I download something from my computer instead?

Though Palm PDAs are considered "legacy" by their new "supporters", HP, there is a download site for your Tungsten. Note that while HP seems to have forgotten that there was an "E", and only mention the E2, the
Palm Support Palm Tungsten E2 Palm Desktop 4 1 4 and HotSync Manager... download should work... providing you are using the right OS on your computer. XP is listed in your owners manual, Vista usually works, Win7 is really dicey unless you bought one of the reconditioned/customized Tungstens that have become available over the internet lately, and win 8 might really become a deal-breaker. Good luck!

I have a Palm Tungsten E2. I just got a new computer and downloaded the hotsync software from Palm in hopes to back up my Tungsten E2 by syncing it to the new computer. It is now asking me for a password...

Try using 0000 - that is four zeros - or 1234.
Those are the usual default passwords given by that manufacturer. When all else fails, contact the manufacturer! If you haven't already tried simply pressing the Enter Key with no password in the dialog box first.
Good Luck!

During hotsync, data wont transfer from Computer to palm

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

Palm tungsten E2

As the previous responder said, the Tungsten E2 cannot read cards over 1 GB. However, there is a wonderful solution available at PalmPowerups.com called PowerSDHC. This wonderful little driver will enable the E2 to read cards of any size! At $20.95, it's a bargain. I installed it on my E2 and now I use an 8 GB SDHC chip!

Are the programs on my palm 505m compatable with the tungsten e2? I am thinking to purchase a tungsten e2.

I have purchased 2ea. of the handhelds over time, and used them since 2005. They are reliable. I would recommend you purchase a Aluminum case to protect it.

Unable to hotsync with my computer

Also, if you have a new Tungsten E2 and there is no important data, I would hard reset it and then when you sync it, select the old profile of the previous Palm to see if that works.

The new Palm you have, is it a Tungsten E2 as well?

The profiles don't always carry over between different models.
