To connect your computer to a wireless router, you click the Refresh network list, then Choose your wireless network and then click Connect to your secured Wireless Network, it will asks for a Network Key before allowing you to connect into your wireless network. This Network Key is either the WEP, or WPA or WPA2 Encryption key that is configured in the Wireless settings in the Router. The Passphrase is an alternate way to setup the Encryption key.
When you are requested for a Network Key, you can just enter the Passphrase or WPA or WPA2 key that was used to configure the Encryption key in the wireless router.

SOURCE: trying to install wireless network. Wireless

if you're using windows XP then you need to start the Wireless Zero Configuration. just click on the start button and choose run then type in services.msc in the run box and click on ok. in the services window just look for Wireless Zero Configuration, it's at the bottom part of the list. just double click it and under the General tab you'll see a box for the Start up type, just set it to Automatic and then on the Service status click Start and then Ok button. once you finish this, you will be able to see the Wireless network tab to be able to select the "use windows to configure my network". in case you're using vista, that option is actually not available as it automatically starts the windows wireless manager and only conflicts if there is a third party software/ wireless manager installed in your computer.

hope this helps...

SOURCE: have belkin54g wireless router. Now wont connect

Right under screen there should be a button, or the f8 key I think is another one. You can also search you computer for Wireless Assistant which will turn it on for you.

SOURCE: laptop wont connect to wireless network but desktop is fine.

Perhaps, it just needed a new IP address. Simply rebooting the computer and resetting the IP Address of the computer took care of the issue.

or

That sounds like symptoms of Manufacturer & Windows drivers conflicting. Try uninstall the Manufacturer Drivers and let the windows ones do the work, and see how that goes down.

To test your Internet connection use a LAN cable, connect to your laptop to your router and if you can get an Internet connection then most likely your USB wireless adapter is not configured correctly for connecting to your wireless router.

Linksys Wireless-N pci adapter model wmp300n

If it says local or unidentified network that means you are just connected to the router on the network but not through the internet. Try to go to manage wireless network, remover your network there and add it again, connect to your own network and make sure to type the correct network key., then check again. You can also try connecting to other wireless network to further isolate the problem.
