Hp laserjet 1020 meltdown

Hi,

Try this out:

Some printers require time to turn on. These printers may or may not give feedback in the form of blinking light(s). Wait up to a minute for the power light to come on before proceeding with the steps below. Instructions If the printer uses a power adapter (module), follow the instructions below. If the printer uses only a power cord, see the section below entitled “ If the printer uses only a power cord .” If the printer uses a power module Follow the steps below to ensure power is properly supplied to the printer:
  1. Check the power module part number against the part number listed in the User’s Guide to ensure the proper power adapter is being used.
  2. Disconnect the power cord or adapter from the wall outlet.
  3. Disconnect the printer data cable from the printer.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait thirty seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from the power module and reconnect the power cord to the power module. This may not be necessary if the power module has a permanently attached power cord.
  6. Reconnect the power cord directly into a working wall outlet. If the power cord was plugged into a surge protector or power strip, plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet instead. NOTE: "The HP Photosmart 8100, 8400, and HP Deskjet 6000 series printer power cords feature a green LED built into the power plug. If the LED is not glowing, the power module may have failed. Proceed to step 7 below.
  7. If the printer still will not turn on or the power LED built into the power cord is not glowing, plug the printer into a wall outlet in another room. If the printer or power LED turns on when connected to an electrical outlet in another room, there is a problem with the power in the original room.
  8. If there is still no power to the printer, then the power module, cord, or printer may be defective. Try the power module/cord on another HP Deskjet or Photosmart printer, of the same model if possible, to see if the power module is functioning. If the power LED is still not glowing, the power module may be defective. Replace the power module and cord.
  9. If the power module/cord works on the other printer, then this printer is defective. Service your printer.
  10. If you cannot determine whether the problem is the printer or the power module/cord, or if another printer is not available to test with, replace the power module/cord first. If this does not resolve the issue, service your printer.
If the printer uses only power cord Follow the steps below to ensure power is properly supplied to the printer:
  1. Check the power module part number against the part number listed in the User’s Guide to ensure the proper power adapter is being used.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Disconnect the printer data cable from the printer.
  4. Disconnect the power cord from the printer, wait thirty seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  5. Reconnect the power cord directly into a working wall outlet. If the power cord was plugged into a surge protector or power strip, plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet instead.
  6. If the printer still will not turn on, plug the printer into a wall outlet in another room. If the printer turn on when connected to an electrical outlet in another room, there is a problem with the power in the original room.
  7. If there is still no power to the printer, then the power cord or printer may be defective. Try the power cord on another HP Deskjet or Photosmart printer to see if the power cord is functioning.
  8. If the power cord does not work on the other printer, it is defective. Replace the power cord.
  9. If the power cord works on the other printer, then this printer is defective. Service your printer.
  10. If another printer is not available to test with, carefully inspect the power cord for damage.
  11. Inspect the power cord for visible damage. If the power cord is damaged, replace the power cord first. If this does not resolve the issue, or if the power cord looks fine, then service your printer.

Goodluck,

Power could not start by pressing power button but power is coming as the blinking is done for once when connected to power

Solution one: Make sure the electrical outlet works
  1. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  2. Plug another appliance into the electrical outlet to make sure the outlet works.
    • If the electrical outlet does not work , plug the product into another outlet that does work.
    • If the electrical outlet works, but the product still does not turn on , continue to the next step.
Solution two: Make sure the power supply is compatible with the HP product

Follow these steps to test the power on the product.
  1. Reconnect the power supply to the rear of the product.
  2. Press and quickly release the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to start a Power On/Off cycle. Do not hold the button down. Figure 1: Press and quickly release the Power buttonc01896071.gif c01733891.gif If you press and hold the Power button too long, the product might turn on and then off without restarting. If this happens, press and quickly release the Power button (c01602202.gif ) again.
  • If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , see the next step.
Solution four: Test the power with a compatible power cord from a different product If you have another available power cord that is compatible with your product, use the alternate cord to repeat the steps in Solution three: Reset the power module and test the power .
  • If the product turns on with the alternate power cord, the original power cord caused the issue. Contact HP to replace the power cord. Right-click the following link, How to Buy HP , to buy a compatible power cord.
  • If the product does not turn on with the alternate power cord, continue to the next step.
Solution five: Service the HP product If you have completed all the steps listed above and are still experiencing a problem, service the product.

Wii console isnt working

Have you tired resetting the AC adapter? If not, then try this:

  1. Unplug/remove all accessories from the system (including game discs, SD Cards, memory cards, Nintendo GameCube controllers, hookup cables, the AC Adapter, and Sensor Bar) from the outlet and Wii.
  2. Let the system rest for about 90 seconds. While you're waiting, check to see that controller cords, AC Adapter, and Stereo AV cables/Component Video cables are not frayed or have exposed wires (this can cause the system to shut off); if so, you should replace those parts.
  3. After the 90 seconds, Plug the AC Adapter into the system and directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector or power strip. Check to see if the power light on the Power button comes on.

Xbox 360

If the light on your power supply isnt on then you either have a dead outlet or your power supply is bad. Try switching outlets some times connections in the wall can go bad. If this doesnt help you might need to purchase a new power supply. If any of your friends have a 360 see if you can borrow there cord to see if it will work.
