I've just added this phone and assigned it an extention. The software loads it recognized the ext, but I have no dial tone. You can call the ext. it will ring, but when I pick up it is dead. I can't hear anything. I've checked the hand set to make sure it works. Also when I try other phones I'm having the same problem. I'm assuming I'm not setting something correctly within the system but can't figure out what? Any help would be appreciated!

The phone is not registered with the IP Office. Double check the IP settings of the phone. Callsv is the IPO IP address
Fileserv is the fileserver, usually the vmail pro server.

The phone may be apart of a hunt group. Inside of the Net Set Utility, check to see if it is a member of that hunt group.

3Com stopped making these phones 4 or 5 years ago. I would suggest contacting the merchant from whom yu purchased them for support.

If the phones are only 6-8 months old you should be calling 3Com. those phones have a 1 year warranty and once you register them they will help you troubleshoot and replace them if needed. Can you provide more detail? Do you have any network issues while this is happening? Does speakerphone work but the handset doesn't?
