You need to go to the jobo site, find the driver/software/service link, in that you will find the giga one formatting tool, download and use that. i had the same problem when i purchased my original giga one, i used windows to format the drive - but as people find out windows is unable to format the drive correctly ie fat 32, and you then get an error message. in the formatting tool it tells you why what the different error codes are and error 1 means drive not formatted to fat 32, im not sure how old your giga one is but when i purchased mine approx 4yrs ago it never came with a proper manual and there was no support on the jobo site at the time. I think a lot of these minor problems could be avoided if it came with a manual and explained whats needed to clear the internal hard drive

You've got a problem here. It may be solved by using partition recovery tools. Look to use tools available from Open Source Networks, Freeware etc. If, by using thee tools you cannot restore your drive then the only option is to buy a new one. Good Luck. George
(WARNING: After running this low level format tool, the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased. Therefore, data restoration will be impossible after using this utility!)

1) Be sure that your motherboard support SATA - See Bios
2) Using the Win XP installation CD you can format the drive. If you cannot load windows during the installation hit F6 to charge the SATA drivers.
If your sata drive is working like a second disk, you can format it directly from windows. Start>> Control Panel >> Admistrative tools >> Computer Management
