ViviCam 9126 - item will not turn on.

I have replaced all batteries, recharged and purchased new batteries etc. It will not switch on. I have checked all polarities to make sure ther were inserted the right way. The camera is less than 1 year old. Any ideas? Trouble shooting doesn't give any more details for this apart from the battery replacement/polarity.

The camera maybe still under warranty (12 month warranty). You maybe able to get a warranty repair from the manufacturer.

SOURCE: battery not recharging

Hi

You can't charge your battery while it is in the camera; the USB cable that connects to your computer is for transferring pictures not charging the battery.

SOURCE: camera has failed to operate giving a "change batteries" message

Your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

SOURCE: C913 camera will not turn on - after new batteries

Hi,

Try to clean the battery terminals of the camera, if there is any kind of rust, remove it.

Keep the camera off for a day with battery and memory card taken out.

Now insert the battery and memory card in and switch it on.

If still theproblem persists then there is problem with the internal circuit as the charge from the battery is not flowing in it. Then you will have to take your camera to a Kodak Repair center to get it checked.

Good luck and have a nice day.

I cannot switch the camera on

sure your batteries are still tip top?
Try two new AA sized NiMH rechargeable batteries or if you have some new alkaline batteries, put them in. the alkaline batteries won't last long, but it it could hint if the camera is still working and worth buying new rechargeables.
AA manganese (Zinc-Carbon) batteries cannot be used with this camera.

I have a Vivitar Vivicam 5050 black and I use 2 AAA batteries in it ,but it only lets me take a few pictures and the camera turns of wanting new batteries. Can you help?

The Vivitar Vivicam 5050 is notorious for eating up battery life. But first off, try to check for any corrosion inside the battery compartment. If there is none, I would suggest that you use alkalines or better yet, rechargeable batteries to make it more cost effective.

I just got a ViviCam T027, what kind of batteries do i need??

for some reason they take either AA OR AAA batteries. remove the batteries and it will say on the side what type. AAA batteries or small. AA are the larger "penlight" batteries. i would suggest/recommend that you purchase a set of rechargable batteries for the camera. 600ma minimum but higher ma would be best. most dept stores such as walmart etc will have charger + battery combination packs you can buy. as a side note buying dollar store batterys etc will be a waste of money as i've tried it. you might get one or two pictures from a set of batteries. your other choice is a good set of alkaline batteries. but rechargable batteries are your best option.

Vivicam X30 Problem

This is most commonly caused by dirt/grit or a power problem.

Try turning the camera lens down and blowing compressed air from a can (keyboard cleaner) or compressor into the area between the lens and the camera. Once you finish the cleaning, hold the zoom button in and power the camera on.

If the above doesn't clear the problem, make sure that your battery is fresh and fully charged. If the battery is more than a year old it probably needs to be replaced.

Finally, check and clean the contacts on the battery and inside the camera's battery compartment. Corrosion builds up on the contacts, especially if a camera is unused for a while, and it's not always visible. Wipe the contacts firmly with a clean dry cloth to remove light corrosion - a heavy buildup may require cleaning with a fine wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper. After the cleaning, place the battery back in the camera and give it good charge.

HINT: The battery cleaning also works for cell phones, PDAs, laptops, and other items that use rechargeable batteries. Always check it before you chuck it.

If none of the above work, your camera probably has lens damage that will require a professional repair.

Vivicam 5385

This means that you are using the wrong type of battery. You have to purchase a battery specifically designed for Digital cameras. Also i would suggest you use rechargeable batteries.

Not switching on

Sounds like you need a new battery, even if you charged it.
If it is a rechargable, they go bad and act the way you say.
If it not a rechargable battery try new ones.
If that won't work leave the batteries out of the camera for 24 hours, and try it with fresh batteries.

Camera will not stay on

are you using rechargable batteries if not use them the normal batteries do not last long and to be honest are no good with digital cameras. if you are using rechargable batteries let them charge for at least 5 hours before you use them
