The audio and video are not in sync

When watching movies on the dvd player, the sound is very often not in sync with the picture. This is not always the case, but is quite often and very annoying.

It is connected via a home theater receiver. The thing that is puzzling is that sometimes it works just fine and then other times it doesn't.

Are the movies you're watching store purchased DVDs? Sometimes with downloaded movies, the audio and video are just out of sync.

If they're store bought, it's possible that you've got a delay set in your receiver. Consult your receiver's operating manual to see if there's a "delay" option.

It's also possible that you're hearing that delay in the TV speakers.

If you've got the audio coming through the receiver AND the tv, you'll hear a slight delay when the audio's traveling from the DVD player to the television itself. This could happen "sometimes", if the tv volume is on, and not happen when the tv volume is off.

Delayed sound

May I assume you're not trying to watch the movie on a cooktop?

On what device are you trying to watch the movie? From a DVD, or streaming from some website?

No sound when disc is in DVD player. Only picture.

The sound board is out in the dvd player. Try another source, such as cable, and/or a gaming system if the tv gets sound it is for sure the sound board on the dvd player. Always check to make sure the dvd player doesn't have a mute option.

I hooked up our Onkyo TX-SR607 system a few weeks ago and have watched several movies, but now I cannot get the Hitahci PH35811 TV to sync up to get video. I get audio, but no picture when we try to watch...

Are you routing the video into your reciver from the dvd player? If so route the video directly into your tv. It won't fix the initial problem but you will get picture and sound to watch dvd movies.

I dont get the sound, can see pictures.

hey sajith,

check all the audio and video cable's connected to tv and dvd player.
you may have forgot the wire color's (audio and video) there would be one wire for video and two for audio. some times there would be a RF socket also. so, see the right sockets and connect to tv by interchanging wires.

DVD to Zuine

just google "Zune video converter" to get ahold of a converter... the first link is usually fine...

After you get the conversion you just toss the converted file into a folder monitored by the Zune software and it will pick it up automatically. From there you right click the name of the file in the Zune software and click "transfer to zune"

There you go...

Video

Bad video cable is first thing to check. The output is composite or progressive? need more info on your configuration to solve. It almost sounds like the IC for the video is heating-up.

Picture but no sound only loud hum

You have to double check the inputs of the video in as well as the audio in on the TV set. they come from the video and audio output on the DVD player. Good Luck
