Are wire hoists as strong as chain hoists?

Wire hoists are as strong and in some cases can be stronger even than chain hoists being able to lift between 1/2 up to 80 tons.

Manual chain hoist keeps slipping load chain when under load (lifting and lowering). It will hold when you keep tension on the slack side of load chain. Any ideas?

sounds if the motor brake is not holding , this is a wear part and will require adjustment/replacement over its life time , the brake is located under the motor cover , but if your not sure what to adjust ,then im gonna suggest for safetys of you and the people around it' s sake you get a profesional to service this hoist

No brakes to rear

if you purchased the master cylinder from autozone or another aftermarket auto parts store in this catagory it is very common to have them fail straight out of the box. the very best i can recommend is to get ac delco parts. but at this rate you can still get them to replace the failed one under warranty.

The cable for the spare tire on my 2006 1500 works fine (it's all the way down) but the retainer did not lower at all so I cannot pick up the spare tire. Can anyone help? Thanks

  1. Rotate the hoist shaft counterclockwise until approximately 15 cm (6 in) of cable (1) is exposed.
  2. While holding the latch pin (3), fully depress the latch button (2) and release the secondary latch from the hoist assembly. Some side-to-side and/or up-and-down movement may be necessary to disengage the latch mechanism.
  3. Continue rotating the hoist shaft counterclockwise in order to lower the hoist the rest of the way.
  4. If this does not release the secondary latch, the spare tire hoist will need to be replaced. See the following procedure.
Important: If the spare tire hoist has been fully raised without a spare tire in place, the secondary latch mechanism may have become engaged. If this has occurred the hoist will not lower and the following steps will need to be followed:

High Level Brake bulb replacement

If memory serves, there are two screws holding this light assy to the rear package deck. They are covered (LH and RH side of this assy). remove the covers and using a phillips screwdriver, remove the screws and lift the assy up and away from the rear glass. you now have access to the bulb and socket.
