there is a driver for sound card which should be installed,ur comp engineer normally has it ready with him, once the souncard driver is installed all ur audio's will work..
If the sound is built in to the motherboard then that driver is on the motherboard installation/bios cd. If you do not have that cd you will have to go to the motherboard manufacturers website, click on support link, lookup your specific board model # and then download the sound driver for the operating system you are using. After download install you should be up and running. Hope this helps & please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.
hi,
i hope this helps. since you don't have any idea what your mobo is, it's best to have adiagnostic tool installed (everest ultimate or belarc advisor). you can download them for free inb the internet.it will give you many useful information about your system.
you can also go to your control panel and look for device manager and look for a highlighted device (ususally colored orange or with a question mark) and right click it for properties and look for driver problems. xp will give you suggestions on how to fix it.
finally if the builtin sound is really busted, you can install a seperate pci soundcard and install the soundcard together with the driver oof that souncard if windows does not automatically detect and install that soundcard.
What you will need to do is open up the computer case and physically remove the soundcard. On the souncard should be a make and model on the circuit board. If you can't see it on the top of the board, it may be on one of the larger integrated circuits (ICs). Most likely it will either be an ESS or Crystal sound card. From there, you can use a service like driverguide.com to find the drivers.
Be sure to firmly seat the card back in when you re-install it. You do not want it half in and half out of the slot, that could damage the computer or soundcard.
Please install the driver of your soundcard, If you have Cd utilities enclosed onto you computer please install the all the drivers, from chipset, vga, souncard or audio so that all the problems wil be resolved.
i f you have none cd utilities then tell me your mainboard(model number) sothat i can search driver for you to download.
