Hi, I just bought a supposedly new Jabra BT500 on eBay. I took it out of the package and plugged it in to the charger. While inserting the power plug the LED briefly lights up green but then goes out. I?ve tried just inserting the power plug part of the way in an effort to get the LED to stay green but nothing works. It just briefly lights up and then goes out. I've tried pressing the power button and all combinations of buttons but nothing happens. Is there anything I can do? The seller refuses to replace or refund my order. Is it worth opening up? What would I look for? Thanks John
If you can try a different charger, try that. try charging with USB cable if not. Try your charger on another headset if you can. I think the charger is the problem. If no change every way, here is the link to the user manual if you need it; http://www.jabra.com/Sites/Jabra/NA-US/pages/SupportProduct.aspx?productid=3c063d26-e62b-4b4d-9613-c10134a79cf3 Page 7 has the toll-free tech helpline which is probably worth a check in case they have any ideas before opening it up. If still no luck, and you want to open it up, first thing to look for is the battery. check any connectors are on properly. try charging for a while and see if battery gets warm/hot/no change. See if there are any technical specifications or part numbers written on the battery and I can get more info to see if it can be checked and if it is worth replacing. If you have any trouble identifying the battery, try posting back a photo of the inside and we will see what we can do. Hope this helps :)
Even if the battery is soldered to the board as they say, if you can use a soldering iron and if you can read a part number off the battery, then it can be replaced.
As to opening it, couldn't find any specific info online, sorry - if you post back a couple of close-up photos then I can probably come up with some ideas.
The type of battery that is probably inside is very unlikely to cost much so it is probably worth trying.

I've tried charging with the USB cable too. No luck.
I've already contacted the Jabra tech support. They will not support items purchased off of eBay because they assume they are counterfeits.
I asked them if the problem could be a bad battery and if I could access it and replace it. The said "The battery is hard wired to the circuit board, and cannot be replaced."
I can't figure out how this unit comes apart and I'm reluctant to attempt to break it apart accept as a last resort.
