Lint builds up inside the hollow of my dryer door and all over the face of the opening of the dryer. The vent has been thoroughly cleaned. The maintenance man has gone as far as cleaning the vent by going to the crawlspace and cleaning the entire vent. There seems to be something missing from the inside of the door, as it is hollow and there are rectangular holes, as if there had been a screen of something else to block the lint. It gets all over the door and is hanging from the door when I open it and gets on the clothes making the lint screen pretty useless.

Most appliance stores sell a brush tahts on a 3 foot handle to remove any excessive lint form the lint trap.

Evidently the fuse blew for some reason.
Keep the dryer unplugged from power for one hour or so. If it still does start, you will have to take apart the dryer, check the fuse, check the thermal fuse, and test the wirings inside.
If you need to call arepairman use the number listed on the owner manual.

If you are certain that the filter is not compromised or damaged and is properly seated into the housing , you may have a problem with the housing itself whereby lint is getting into the blower thru a break in that housing.. I would examine that area for damage.. and make sure when you reinsert the filter, it is seated all the way down.. Hope this helps you... BTW: over time, it is not unusual for lint to build up in the duct since some of that lint is smaller than the filter media and will work its way thru.. If you are getting that degree of lint build up very quickly then you may have a problem as mentioned above..

Problem: The drum spins, but there is no heat.
Solution: This could be the effect of a number of problems. Here's a list of things to check and details on how to do it.

• Fuse could be bad -- Check the fuse for a break inside. If it’s bad, replace it with an identical fuse.
• Temperature switch could be bad -- Use VOM to check the switch. Set VOM to RX1, remove leads and touch the probes to the switch's terminals. The reading should be zero or infinity. Turn the switch, and the reading should change from zero to infinity or infinity to zero. If not, the switch is bad.
• Thermostat could be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1, take a lead off one of the two outside terminals and press the probes to the two outside terminals. There should be a reading of zero. If not, it's bad.
• Heating coils may be bad -- Set the VOM to RX1 and remove the leads from the coil. Press the probes to the terminals. If the reading is zero, the coil is bad.
• Timer could be bad -- Disconnect the leads from the motor. Set the VOM to RX100. Clip the probes onto the leads. If the reading is infinity, the timer motor is bad.
