I changed the video format on my night owl DVR and now I cannot get it to display on my tv. An error message appeared on the tv stating "resolution mismatch! change devices resolution"

hi,

maybe when you changed the video format the resolution of the screen was changed or

the new format needs another resolution.

How to fix my Samsung tv ..picture goes in and out intermittently

The inverter board is responsible for the backlight so you can see the picture. If the picture just goes off intermittently then that means that the backlight is being turned off. And since the inverter board powers the backlighting you might want to look there.

How do i change my fornat/resolution on my model wd-82738 tv

See page 6 (this is a display & basic explanation of your transmitter) of the owners manual http://mitsubishi-tv.com/asset/file/basic_owners_guide/738-838_BIB_v3.pdf
there is a format button on you remote transmitter. If you have other format issues it is probably your source & not the TV. You may have to change the source format in which case you will need that mfr. operating manual.

The heads are cut off....I only have my dish remote, Is there a way to fix the format from that tv or a button on the tv itself it is a 52" or 60"

How did this start? you need the remote to change the settings in the first place, somebody used it to change the settings! Have you tried using the dish remote, did you change the format on dish? there is a place on the remote that changes the format from the sat signal also, should be a yellow bar below the live TV button. This is the way mine is set up but on other remotes there is still a button to change the format, look on the dish remote for this.

Word Component1 shows up when changing local channels

Your Direct TV box is switching between a Standard Definition channel and a High Definition channel. When this happens, the TV has to switch the display format. As the format is changing, you will briefly loss picture, the TV detects the new format, and then displays it. What you are seeing is the normal operation of the TV. It the TV did not blank the picture, you would see a broken chopped up picture during the transition. If you are familiar with the setup menu of the Direct TV box, you could change the video format settings so than it locks to the High Definition format. If you are not familiar with the Setup menu, you should contact Direct TV and ask then to walk you though this procedure. Specifically, ask them to "Help me set my Direct TV box so that it always displays in 1080i format." You pay for them for the service, they should be able to provide you with some phone support at no charge. I hope this was helpful, best wishes.
