What are you trying to do?
Could it be that you entered a + sign followed by a - (minus) sign instead of a change sign (-). +-10

SOURCE: Solving matrix

Go to your matrix button and enter a "3x4" matrix.

Then enter it as follows:

-3 4 5 7
4 3 2 9
-5 5 3 -10

Then exit out and go to "2nd->matrix->math->rref(". Then press enter.

Your screen should look like this:

rref(

Then go to matrix and select your 3x4 matrix, press enter and close it with a parathesis. Your screen should look like this:

rref([A])

Press enter and the screen should say this:

1 0 0 2
0 1 0 -3
0 0 1 5

So,
x=3
y=-3
z=5

Hope this cleared up the confusion!

SOURCE: I downgraded my TI-Nspire's OS

I had this same problem myself and I had to look everywhere to find a solution. You will have to remove the current OS from your device. Heres how.

http://epsstore.ti.com/OA_HTML/csksxvm.jsp?nSetId=101985&nUsePub=NO&jttst0=6_23871,23871,-1,0,&jtfm0=&etfm1=&jfn=ZGC81E19298A9321E38D51491551F331C8CCDA6801E50CC672F84B3EFDF0F6ACEF9DD42026E6C2FF1F9579670CF87CEAF79D

I couldnt use option 2 for some reason and had to use option 4 (complete format, luckily I had backed the files up earlier) but once it was reformatted the device showed up in the software and told me to update the OS. From here you just install the latest OS as you would normally.
The problem with what you and I did is that previous OS versions (1.7 in my case) dont support the keypad, you may be able to use the older version with a different keypad but I'm not sure.
Anyway, I hope you can fix it, good luck.

Maybe the file is missing, or there is a defect on the disk. I suggest you go the education.ti.com website and download the trial software from there. Install it on your computer and validate it with the license that came with your calculator.

What is x-3y=-12, 4x+6y=-12 in elimination ?

then x = 3y-12, then 4(3y-12) +6y=-12, then (12y-48)+6y=-12, then 12y-48+6y=-12, then 18y=36, then y=2. x=3y-12, x=3(2)-12, x=6-12, x=-6.

What ia the sulution of 3y-6x=-3

To find the solution, first find the value of y for each equation.
Then substitue one equation into the other so that you only the x variable left.
Then just solve for x.
Once you have a value for x, then you can easily solve for y.

So for the first equation:

3y - 6x = -3
3y = 6x - 3

y = 2x - 1

Now for the second equation:

2y + 8x = 10
2y = -8x + 10

y = -4x + 5

Since both equations equal y, they also equal each other, therefore:

2x - 1 = -4x + 5

Now just solve for x:

2x + 4x = 5 + 1
6x = 6

x=1

Now substitute x=1 into either original equation:

y = 2x - 1
y = 2 (1) - 1
y = 2 - 1

y = 1

Therefore the solution is x=1 and y=1

Good luck, I hope that helps.

(2x+3y)(3x+2y)

(2x - 3y)(3x + 2y) = 2x*3x + 2x*2y - 3y*3x - 3y*2y
= 6x^2 + 4xy - 9xy - 6y^2
= 6x^2 - 5xy - 6y^2 You multiply each element in the first set of brackets by each element in the second set of brackets and then consolidate like terms and arrange them in sequence of powers, first x and then y. So:
2x by 3x = 6x squared
2x by 2y = 4xy
-3y by 3x = -9xy
-3y by 2y = 6y squared

6x squared -5xy + 6y squared

What does "domain error an argument must be in a specified domain" mean?

The expression a function acts on (i.e. what is inside the function) is called its argument. The arguments of some functions such as y=ax, y=ax^2 can have any real value. However some functions have arguments that must be in a specified domain: they are restricted to some specified intervals. For example y=square root (x) can act on any positive value, but if you feed it a negative value it is out of the correct domain.

4x+3y=6 how do you solve for y

Hello,
I am not lecturing you but I would rather you understand how to do the manipulations involved in isolating a variable.
You want to isolate y, Ok
Start stripping it of all that is not y.

3y + 4x =6. (Addition is commutative, I can change the order of addition)
The term with y is added to 4x. If I want the term in y alone on one side I perform the inverse operation of addition, a substraction. I subtract 4x from both sides.
3y+4x-4x=6-4x. But 4x-4x=0, and we are left with

3y= - 4x+6

This operation is sometimes summarized as make one term change side while changing its sign

It would do no harm to put the right side of the foregoing equation in parentheses. I do that to avoid errors)

3y= (-4x+6).

Now y is multiplied by the number 3. To isolate y I have to perform the inverse operation of the multiplication, namely the division by 3

3y/3 =(-4x+6)/3. The left hand side is just y

y= (-4x+6)/3.

While result is correct, I can also open the parentheses
y= -4x/3 +6/3
y= -(4/3)*x +2.

Hope it helps.
