Tines I have Earthquake Mini Cultivator; engine runs fine but tines won't turn?

Either clutch is bad or teeth are striped in bottom gear box. remove tines run engine and see if you can feel movment in lower gear box, if yes the gears are gone. If no remove engine to expose clutch.

Why is the belt wearing out so quick, i have used my brand new earthquake rear tine tiller less than ten hours and have gone thru three belts.


-The pulley, idler are not line up and may be too sharp edges. or may be some other part is touching the belt when is running.

How easy is it to replace clutch cable on earthquake mc 43 tiller


Remove the 4 to 6 screws holding the engine to bottom gear box and lift eng off. clutch is right there. It could be the teeth on the lower branze gear are stripped. lay machine on its side and with tines off remove gear box cover.

then you need to open the gear box and find out why if it has a forward and reverse the the shifting linkage it could be stuck in one gear and adding the other will lock it up as well

Motor runs, tines turn. won't dig deep. Can't find belt.


This is a direct gear drive system, (It doesn't have a belt) It also only has a 4 inch digging depth by specs so anything deeper than that is great.
