SOURCE: dish network remote stopped working for on and off and volume

First before trying to repair the remote lets try to just reprogram it. The easiest way to do this is to do a search. 1st Turn the tv on, then on the remote press and hold the tv button until it flashes. Next press the tv power button. Next press the up arrow button slowly until the tv turns off. Then hit the # key. Now if you pressed the up arrow to many times and the tv doesn't respond to the remote just start the process over, except using the up arrow use the down. You may have to push the up arrow button many times before it finds the code. The batteries usually last quite a while since there are 4 of them. If this doesn't work call 1-800-333-dish they will either send out a tech or just mail you a new one. If you have the user guide for the 722 the instructions to do this are on page 82.

SOURCE: Dish Network IR Remote's SAT Mode Not Working ____

Hello, this is Nick Franta with DISH.

If you are trying to get the remote programmed to the receiver you can remove the smartcard from the receiver and that will prompt the system info screen. This will allow you to program the remote to the receiver.

If you need the process for programming the remote, here it is:

  1. Go to System Info screen (in this case -- obtain by removing smartcard from receiver)
  2. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  3. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
  4. Press the pound (#) button
  5. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
Hope this helps!

SOURCE: my remote control only works

I experienced this problem as well. I have a dual receiver and had issues turning channels on TV2; but counld easily access the volume. After reading the Dish manual, I learned that my TV1 and TV2 remotes connect through different signals (IR = infrared for TV1; and UHF= ultra-high frequency for TV2).

Check your remote to see if there is a UHF logo at the very bottom (under the Dish Network logo). The UHF remote sends ultra-high frequency radio signals to a UHF antenna which is connected to the back panel of the receiver. Make sure that you receiver is properly dusted and then check to make certain that the UHF antenna located on the back of the receiver is positioned straight-up. When the antenna is not correctly positioned it can cause problems with your remote signals.

SOURCE: can't get the tv/input button to work on dish

Hi there! This is Kimberly Escobar with Dish Network. Just ran across your post and wanted to help. In order to get the remote to possibly work the Inputs on your T.V the remote needs to be programmed to your Vizio T.V. In order to do this we have certain codes that can be integrated into the remote. Some of the codes for a Vizio T.V are 505, 671, and 627. The procedure is press and hold the clear T.V buttton located at the top of your remote until you see all the other buttons light up in red, once they are lid up enter one of your codes followed by the pound key for example: 505#. The T.V button should light up 3 times you can then try the remote to see if it works your T.V

Unfortunately we cannot promise it will completely function the T.V so it might bu that input button does not work. If you need any help please contact us directly at 1800-333-DISH.

Trying to set DISH remote for an APEX LD4088. need the code please

    Hello chiech22,

I noticed your post and see that your DISH remote needs to be programmed to your APEX TV. There are a couple of ways that your remote can be programmed to your TV. One option would be to use the remote code that is for your TV, these codes may vary depending on the model of your remote. The best option for you would be a Power Scan to get your remote programmed to your TV. Here are the steps.

1- While at the TV locations (TV1 or TV2 depending on which key is installed), point the remote at the TV. Press and hold the TV MODE button on the remote until all four MODE buttons at the top of the remote light up.

2- Press the RECEIVER POWER button on the remote.

3- Press the UP ARROW on the remote, about one press every two seconds. Stop as soon as the TV turns off. This process may take several minutes.

4- Press POUND (#) on the remote. The TV MODE button will flash three times.

5- Press TV POWER on the remote to turn on the TV. Press VOLUME on the remote to confirm the remote controls the TV. If this does not work, return to Step 1.

If you need any further assistance let us know. I hope this helps.

DISH VIP612 Program AUX Remote Code 2

DISH Solo DVR VIP612 Program AUX Remote Code

    7c06801.jpg

Would you like to program the Universal Remote that came with your Dish Solo DVR VIP 612 to control your receiver, tuner, stereo, second TV or second VCR using your remote's AUX mode? (Instructions to setup a primary TV or a VCR are a little different, but can be found here.)

    e818a57.jpg

To setup your Dish Solo DVR VIP 612 Universal Remote, follow these steps to enter the remote control codes to control a device with the AUX mode:

    1. Turn the device you would like to control on.
    2. Find the brand name of the device you would like to control in the control code tables on page 112 of the Dish Solo DVR VIP 612 User Manual.
    3. Press and hold the AUX mode button until all the other buttons light up, and then let go. The AUX mode button will flash.
    4. Press 0 for a TV, 1 for a VCR, or 2 for a receiver, amplifier or tuner.
    5. Enter one of the three-digit codes from the tables in the manual.
    6. Press POUND (#). The mode button will flash three times.
    7. Press POWER to turn off the device. If the device does not turn off, skip to step 9.
    8. Turn the device back on and try some of the other buttons to make sure they work. If the code works, stop here.
    9. If the code didn't work, repeat steps 3 through 7 with the next device code from the tables in the manual.
Your device control codes for your amplifier or other AUX device are now programmed into your DISH Solo DVR ViP 612.

Now you probably want to set your Dish Solo DVR VIP 612 Universal Remote up so that it always controls the volume of your stereo, rather than of your TV, regardless of whether it is in SAT, TV, VCR or AUX mode. Help for this remote control programming can be found here.

(Help for programming a TV or VCR using the TV or VCR mode buttons can be found here.)

    I hope that helps.
