My fader has static in it already. I've had this thing since Christmas and it haven't been used too much. Is there something I can do to fix it or do I need to just order a new fader?

mixer faders can get dust in them , this is why its so important to keep them clean , cleaning them out is a bit messy , as one needs to hold it upside down and spray contact cleaner down in the slot (lots) till it runs out clean/clear while moving fader up/down , of course having it unpowered at this time is correct , allow it to completely dry out before repowering

No noise static nothing

does it light up the front panel? If not did you accidently touch something that created an overload that may have caused the reverse polarity diode to blow?

How do I change frequency (channel) to reduce static crackle when line is open on my Uniden cordless phone answering machine? Simon.

you should see a button on the handset (near the bottom of the keys) that is labeled channels. keep pushing that button to you find a clear channel.

I have a galaxy 33hml and i can not figure out how to set it up with the nobs i mean can you help me....

first of all is it set up to a antenna source? if so then turn the squelch nob counter clockwise all the way, then turn the device on. next start at channel one and slowly turn the squelch clockwise until the pin moves or you hear static. then surf the channels adjusting the squelch to to that static point until you find your active station. from there to cancel static between transmissions turn the squelch so that it is just below the static marker.

I have the cobra 29 classic k40 antenna. The antenna light comes on when keyed up on 40 but only channel 40. I used an swr meter and that's as good as I can get. Is this ok?

Normally the swr should be set on the centre channel so if you have 40 channels you should set it on channel 20. This is because as you move away from channel 20 the swr rises slightly more for each channel away from the 20. If you set it on channel 40 you'll have twice as much swr on channel 1 more than if you set it on channel 20. If the swr metre shows 1:1 (i.e. doesn't move up at all) on channel 20 the rest should be ok since the antenna was designed for CB. You should however check that the needle showing reflected power doesn't go above 2.5

Static

The cordless phones have a button to change the channels that are within the radio freq. range. I would change the channels until you get a clear/static free call.
