One of your convergence IC's has either cracked loose or burned out. The IC will have to be resoldered or replaced and then the convergence circuits realigned. If you do not have experience in repairing convergence circuits then have a qualified tech handle it for you. This is by far the most common failure in the projection sets and a good tech can have it fixed in about an hour and a half. I charge $150 for that but shops in your area will vary, so call around.

Good Day, Techwanab;

Look for this to be your problem: CHECK FOR OPEN L2C50 PART #325C146030 ON THE SIGNAL PCB, OR BAD CONNECTIONS AND LEAKY CAPS IN THAT AREA.

Hope this was helpful and not too late.

Good Luck, big IRISH.

You have a bad ground on a convergence IC. You will have to carefully pull this board out and resolder the pins. If this does not solve the problem you will have to replace the ICs. I have saved a few of these TVs with just a resolder job. Thanks for asking!

My Mitsubishi VS 50703 is fed from a DVR into input Ant A. I get sound, but no picture, until I press the 'menu' button on the TV remote; then the picture appears in the PIP window for a few...

Try resoldering the vertica IC. Very common problem. When vertical drops out the CRTs go into blanking ( shutdown no picture) but the menu and on screen displays will still work. Resoldering the IC will usually solve the issue.

Mitsubishi VS-4541 too much red

The set is old and the picture tubes are probably weak. you can pop off the front grill, remove the protective panel to expose the picture tube sockets. On the sockets are controls to increase or decrease the intensity of the colors. The red is on the left ,green center and blue right. Go to a B&W picture or turn the color off, then adjust for the best grey screen.
