Frigidare gltf1670as the front loader washer stopped spinning. it fills and drains fine. the door lock seems to work: light comes on and stays on during a cycle, and the door remains locked if I turn off the cycle and try to open. during the spin cycle, I noticed the drum rotating 1/12 of a turn every 23 seconds.

You likely have a broken or slipped drive belt or broken spring on the belt take up arm on the drum. Appliance Parts.com has a lot of DIY instructions on how to get at the belt and make repairs.

SOURCE: kenmore 417.29042992 front loader washer

If front loader washer quit spinning, check the wax motor switch. You can make a temporary fix by providing a short on the door lock contact. The Kenmore 417.29042992 front load washer provides a test connector that's readily accessible behind the front lower panel. Insert a wire between connector pins 1 and 2 (red and white/red color wires) and your washer should spin during the spin cycle. Hopes this helps.

SOURCE: samsung silvercare washer stopped working, won't unlock

here is the most common cause for this problem, according to the Samsung repair guy that was here to fix mine today.
On these washing machines it is possible for some debris (in my case it was a small screw from my packet) to make its way passed the drum and into the pump. Once this happens then the impeller of the pump becomes restricted or completely blocked which will result in the above mentione symptoms.
On some machines the pump is on the front, on others at the rear of the machine. In my case it was at the rear, removing the rear panel will allow easy access to it. Have a bucket ready, when the hose is removed from the pump the water will be draining from the machine. 3 bolts and a hose clamp on the inlet and another on the outlet hose. Disconnect the electrical plug from the pump and you can remove it from the machine for cleaning. A very easy job, requiring little skills and not much in terms of tools. (make sure machine is UNPLUGGED from AC outlet)
Remove obstruction(s) from pump and reinstall in reverse order of disassembly. The guy says these pumps are really tough so if you hear it buzzing, trying to go while it's jammed it's a good sign it will work. If not, replacement will be necessary.
Cost me $140. Could have been worse I suppose. Advise: Empty pockets BEFORE washing clothes...

SOURCE: my frigidaire washer FTF2140ES0 won't spin on the spin cycle

Hi there, the same thing is happening with our washer. Did you find a solution to the problem? We found a coin the the black tube, but it still doesn't do the final spin. I can hear the motor trying to do something, but it just won't do the final spin. If anyone has any idea or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime, I have a load of slopping wet laundry to deal with. :(

SOURCE: washer fills and drains, but the drum does not run

Joe, Thanks for the prompt reply. OK, it sounds like one of two possible culprits, 1) the belt has broke or spun off. 2) the brushes in the motor are worn...although the initial symptom of this is typically manifest in "no spin" so I'd lean towards a broken or spun off belt. You'll need to remove the rear panel for a visual inspection to confirm or dismiss either possibilities. Let me know what you find out. If the belt is off check for possible reasons "why" ? It can be a loose drive pulley, ( the large one, not the motor pulley ) or simply an unbalanced load on the previous wash, just a heads up since you're looking around in there anyway. Of course the belt itself may be worn ( stretched ) or broke and thus at fault as well. Good luck, I'll watch your post. macmarkus :)

You need to replace the door lock mechansim. Fairly easy to do yourself, just pull the spring strap off the rubber door gasket and remove 2 screws holding door lock. Install new door lock and re-install door gasket and spring strap, and WALLA! she works:)

Washer won't drain or spin

top loader ??? or front loader??? if top loader you have broken your lid switch, will fill, agitate, but when it comes to drain/spin for safety reasons if the unit doent recognize the lid closed it will not advance...if yo have a front loader then i would suspect that something has gotten into the pump assy and preventing drainiing of water therefore will not spin

Fridgidaire washer problem

As a front loader it is different than a top loader. It sounds like your pump is dead or there is an issue with the drain hose or how far it sits in the drain. A clog and/or a siphoning condition can lead to this as also how much and what type of soap is used. A suds lock can cause this also. If the machine agitates fine and the timer advances then the motor control unit is fine. Lets see the only other problem I see is an imbalance. I will post a pic so you can see your machine better.

Frigidare front loader washer error message 20

If you open the top of the washer , there is a "tech" sheet in there to tell you how to reset the error codes.

My washer started this. Then stopped spinning. Now it will not even wash a load. It stops mid-cycle. The ER 20 means that something is not draining right. We checked all of the tubes leading to the pump. Nothing was clogged. The technition seems to think it is a motor controller error.

Front load washer doesn't spin

My Maytag® Neptune® washer filled with water, but it won't spin or drain-what now?

Start by making sure the machine is plugged into a live (working) electrical outlet. Then check the appropriate circuit breaker and reset it if necessary (or check the fuse if you have a fuse box).

Next, inspect the drain hoses and remove any kinks. Take a look at the drain, too - if it's clogged, call your usual drain service person.

Then close the washer door and firmly press the START/STOP button. In a few moments, after the door locks, the washer should begin to spin. (For your safety, the washer will not tumble or spin unless the door is closed and locked.)

If this doesn't work, please contact Customer Service at 1-800-688-9900 for toll-free assistance and service scheduling if necessary.

Door Lock Clicks/Makes noises Washer does not agitate/spin

Sounds like very worn motor brushes to me, as its trying to turn the drum but has'nt the power needed to maintain any momentum, and the blinking door light is because of the bad cotact from brushes to motor.About £20 for a set of brushes or get an engineer to fit new brushes, but get a price first.
