I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and when I turn it on it tells me NO BOOTABLE DEVICE DETECTED This happen one other time and I rebooted my computer and it came back on but it did not work this time what can I...

NO BOOTABLE DEVICE When the PC cannot see a boot file/disk on either the hard disk or floppy drive it gives an error message "No bootable device. Insert boot disk and press any key"
There may be a hard disk problem.
Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case and re-seat the hard drive and also where it connects to the motherboard.
If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect this hard drive, then the hard drive is probably faulty.

To get the computer operating again, install a new hard drive in your computer and then install Windows on this hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

Laptop dell 1525 : power on but no hard drive activity, then later turns on normally (window vista ,normal)and then frozen and after restart no hard activity again but power is on???

You can try running the DELL diagnostics which came with the computer or you can download them off another computer from the dell support website.
Once you get in the diagnostics package. Check the Hard drive, there will be a few testing parameters for the disk check them all.
If the hard drive fails in even 1 test, note down the error code and provide it to dell support who will replace the hard disk if it is still under warranty.
If you dont have warranty then you may need to buy a hard-drive yourself and have it fixed.

I just put a new 9 cell battery, two new 2GB ram cards & a new, blank hard drive in our Dell Inspiron 1525. But the screen does not seem to work when I turn it on, or after I put in an installation...

Remove the battery, and connect the AC power. Then, try to start it.

Disconnect the AC power, and remove the "new" disk-drive.
Then, connect the AC power, and try to start it.

Disconnect the AC power. Remove the "new" RAM, and put the "old" RAM back in.
Then, connect the AC power, and try to start it.

If it does start, add the "new" disk-drive, and try again.

If it does start, add the "new" RAM, and try again.

Dell inspiron 1525 shows black screen after dell logo?

The computer cant find a bootable device. Either your boot sector on your Hard drive is gone/damaged (most likely a virus) or the Hard drive failed. Start with booting with your windows disk and try to do a repair installation.

My computer freezes up and I have to restart runs about 15-20 minutes. Got code 0f00:0232 and of00:075d while doing diagnostic test

Hi,
The place where the test is failing would also tell the device on which the test has failed. Most probably you would getting something as Disk 0 failed or Disk 1. The problem is that the hard drive has crashed and needs a replacement. You can order a new hard-drive from WWW.dell.com

Drive Full After Backing-Up Just Under 4gb of Files

Are you trying to create one giant zip file or something similar? It sounds as if your Lacie 250gb hard drive has been formatted with a FAT32 filesystem and you are running into the maximum file size limit of 4gb minus 1 byte. Try just copying your files without using any compression utility or try reformatting your Lacie 250gb hard drive with the NTFS filesystem instead.
