Washing machine is not washing and spinning

My washing machine turns on but only pumps very little water into the drum and then just sits there for the entire cylce. It does not wash or spin. I unplugged to reset but after plugging it in and turned the knob to a cylce it make a clanking noise and smelled like burned rubber. Any body any solutions? Is there a way to run a diagnostic?

SOURCE: Does not Spin out the water at the end of a load

If it spins the balance is okay. Check out your filter now. And then the pump (after the spigot prob below) Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

SOURCE: my Bosch washing machine drum does not spin at all

possibly due to motor brushes.

remove back panel and take out motor. check continuity across brushes or take brushes out and examine

also check the comutator (series of copper segments the brushes rub against) my experience with bosch is that brushes are often gone because of a damaged comutator

SOURCE: bosch 1200 classic express washing machine wont spin

Providing the machine isn't requiring major breakdown repair, the problem should be solved by emptying the machine and cleaning the drain pump. If this is obstructed the maching won't drain or spin as any bits left in clothes (paper clips, coins, nails, screws etc) wedge themselves into the (what I call a fly wheel) the pump impeller wheel at the back. If the fly wheel can't rotate the machine cannot pump or spin.

So.........turn off the washing machine before you fiddle about with it. Then, at the bottom right-hand side at the front of the machine there's a drop down door. Take this down and take it off. Then, lower the drain hose from its holder and pull the hose out of its housing. Be very careful if you're doing this while you have very hot water in the machine. To be safe, let the water cool before starting. Next take off the closing cap from the hose and empty the water from the machine. There are times when the water doesn't empty by this method so carefully open the door to the machine and bale it out. If the water does come out via the hose, have a suitably sized bucket at the ready as up to 20litres can be drained. Once you've done this, put back the closing cap of the drain hose and returned the drain hose to its holder, unscrew (anti clockwise) the petrol tank cap look-a-like placing a towel underneath as a little residual water will flow out. The pump impeller (fly wheel) must be able to rotate so clean out any residual fluff from the thread of the pump cap and pump housing before returning the pump cover and screwing tightly on. Put back the drop down flap and, hopefully, away you'll go again.

Hope this is of some help.

SOURCE: Bosch classixx 1000 washing machine - stops on spin

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x

Washer wont spin, wash or pump enough water in the machine

This is several issues rolled into one. The clank noise is concerning and the smell could be the heating element for high wash temps. The other thing is the control module could be causing a lot of this. The water valves could be causing the fill issue and the clank could be the pulley on the drum. The bad thing is there are not a lot of parts for that machine as it was 13 years old. The control board is almost 300 dollars. Taking the time to trouble shoot it requires tools and patience . The service manual link is attached. Bosch WFMC3200UC Training Manual

Hi I have a Bosch WSL1662 Maxx washing machine. The spin cycle does not work properly. What could the possible cause be. I have cleaned the outlet of the washing machine and the problem is still...

Probably a blocked empty pump filter. Spin won't kick in until all the water is evacuated. If there is a little left, the machine will do the slow turn cycle that it does just before spin starts but not start the spin cycle because of the water in the drum.

You need to locate the filter and clean it. That should fix your problem. Once this is done, remember to keep the filter clean every few months

Washing machine will not drain all the water. If

there is always a little water left in the drum assembly when done pumping. however it is usually well below the level of the clothes basket/drum so that there is none contacting the clothes when at rest.
if you can actually visibly see water within the clothes basket/drum when the cycle is complete, then check below.
have you lengthened the drain hose beyond the standard length to reach to your taller than normal sewer/drain inlet??? if so then you're getting more water returning to the unit when the pump shuts off and if the extra hose is long enough then theres enough water returning to your tub so that the basket sits in water at rest..
if so you'll need to install a check valve to keep the additional water from going backwards into your unit. some of these units have one built into the drain hose where it connects to the pump.. i tried looking yours up via the model # listed on the 1st page but got nowhere with that number.

you could also have a restriction in your pump or drain assembly that may be slowing things down some.. can't be of more help without proper model # though..
hope this helps,
best of luck,

Drum will not spin

Hi,
I am the new owner of a used Asko Cylinda 10504.
The last owner briefly demonstrated the washer starting a wash cycle and entering the agitation cycle of the wash before stopping and pumping the water out and spinning in a final end cycle. I bought it. I had the machine installed turned it on and cannot get it to go through the wash cycle. After starting at #1 it goes through a perpetual spin cycle of sorts--water and soap soaking the drum and laundry but not enough water to fill up half way or less. It stops at number 4 on the program knob sits on a red dot (next to the #4) and does nothing. I then manually move it to the next cycle and it repeats the spin cycle again until I have advanced the program to the end. No wash cycle no rinse cycle. Nothing. When it advances to the red dot I wait for at least 5 minutes before manually advancing the knob. The instructions say that I should get the water pumped out by turning the program knob to #7 or #9 but in both cases it just spins and does no empty or finish in the end spin cycle of several (9?) minutes. Nothing but banging and spinning. The water seems to get into the drum as well as the detergent but nothing else is happening.
No mater where I start the program it spins and sloshes soapy water, pumping almost nothing out.
Any suggestions short of putting it on the curb or paying a kings ransom to fly a tech out to look at it?

MY GUESS.
It seems that it is repeating the same brief cycle over and over. During the move to my house the electronics re set(??!?!?) and now need to be set to the normal mode after being re connected?
Can you help?
Blessings,
Douglas

Kenmore 44092/spin cycle

It turns out that there was a sock stuck within the pump in the washing machine. I removed the back cover and removed all the excess water, because once the sock was removed, the water was free to escape. I just removed the hose that connects to the pump and felt the sock, and was able to remove it. Once I hooked everything back up, the washing machine ran great.
