Camera Wont turn on and blue light flashes

I try to turn on my M425 and the little blue light flashes a few times and thats all. I have tried the charge the camera and it sometimes takes a few photos then the same problem occurs! The only thing that seems to work is if I take the batteries out for a few seconds then relplace them. The batteries arent dead as they are charged! I can take a few photos but if I turn it off then it wont go back on again without repeating then above process! Any ideas?

I'm having the exact same problem. Tried new batteries and it doesn't turn on. I flip the batteries around and keep trying. Once in a while it actually turned on. Once its on... i don't turn it off and it doesn't turn off on it own either. My guess is a battery connection problem with not supplying enough power? I returned my previous one camera for a similar reason (took 2 photos and died) and got a new same one from HP, now a similar problem.

My camera will not hold a charge and even when its on the dock, it still wont charge. I bought a battery charger and a bunch of rechargeable batteries but the camera is just eating them like candy.

    I need a solution...HELP!!

I have had this problem since I first had the camera. In my experience, HP DO NOT have the total technical knowhow as I have had several HP products that have ALL had serious failings. Ipaq, printers, and cameras.

The possible answer is that batteries are past thier best now and even a 'full' charge is not delivering enough power. treat your self to new batteries.

Tv not turning on

I also have this model. A few months ago, when I turned on the tv, it told me my lamp was in need of replacement. just yesterday, my tv did the same as you....the blue light flashed and then the lamp light kept flickering. All I can say is your lamp needs to be replaced.

Lens Error M425-12 (7F80) on HP M425

Try taking the SD card out and restart the camera. Also, make sure the batteries are fully charged. There is also a firmware upgrade indicating a problem with the lens getting stuck.

Lens error M425-12 (7f80) appears/ camera shuts down

if the blue light flashes 4 times Main power led to on/off switch is crushed and not enough power gets through.
you have disassemble the camera.
I would think first before tring this.
Remove 3 screws on bottom, 1 in battery compartment, and 1 at very top of usb flap (look good).
Now slide the side piece starting at the usb flap then apply pressure to top and away from unit.
now look for 1 silver and three black screws (facing back and front, look good).
See the big red wire leading to main on off switch if it crushed thats the problem.
I replaced it with a longer piece of wire.
Remember to replace battery door first if it fell off during process.
*TEST NOTE: You can place batteries in and place a penny across the bottom to test before you put it back together.
