On Windows XP, when you open My Computer, the Sansa C240 shows up at the bottom, under "Other". Because of DRM restrictions, you cannot copy media files to the C240 using Windows Explorer. You have to use Windows Media Player to sync playlists to the C240 (WinAmp can do it also).
I also suggest that you check out RockBox. It's an alternative operating system for portable media players and they have a version for the Sansa C240. It will give you some additional functionality.
As far as I can tell, to copy files to the microSD card (if you're using one) you have to use a media card reader, then insert the card into the C240.

You can also try using the C240 in mass storage mode. Details are here:http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Ma...

I found out my problem with the microSD card was because I had a microSDHC card (> 2GB). The C240 original firmware cannot read microSDHC, but RockBox firmware can access microSDHC as read-only. There is more info about it at the link above.

Computer (Windows XP) does not recognize the Coby MP-C7085 player

On the MP3 player, go to settings > system, put the USB mode to MSC, then reconnect to the computer, computer will read, the device is currently on MTP and your computer doesnt have driver so that is why its not recognizing.

Can I use my Sandisk Sansa C240 while it is charging?

This is normal when the Sansa is connected to a computer. You can use it while charging if you connect it to something else. For example, you might have a cell phone with a USB charger that plugs into a wall outlet. You could connect the Sansa to it, and it would let you listen while charging.

Sansa c240 isnt formatting!

#1
Insert your ( memory card , flash disk , cellphone , .... ) into your computer.
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.

SanDisk Sansa c240

The photo files that aren't showing up don't meet the specification in some way or another - they aren't jpeg, the resolution is wrong, or the file size is wrong. Transferring music files from card in mp3 player to computer may not be possible - connect mp3 player to computer, double-click my computer, and open photos folder or any other folder that looks relevant - see if the said photo files are in there. If not, then you are out of luck.

How to put pics on the sansa

TRANSFER PHOTOS
To transfer photos to your Sansa c240:
1. Open Sansa Media Converter on your PC
2. Connect Sansa c240 to the computer.
The detected Sansa c240 will list the available space and total space on the device. If more than one
device is inserted, only the first device will be supported.
3. Add the media files to be converted and transferred to the device.
4. Press “Convert” button to start the conversion process and transfer all of the files in the selected
media window and output them using the parameter setting for each media type. A convert status
box will appear showing which file(s) are being converted and the percentage of that file along with
all of the files.

Sansa C240 freeze, wont turn on

Try a hard reset. Press and hold vol + and select for 20 seconds. If that doesnt work, you can try holding the power button for 30 seconds. Try to restart after either trial. If that doesnt work, you can call support and they can troubleshoot it for you. SanDisk Technical Support 1-866-726-3475 Best of Luck.

PC can't find it

The USB port you are using might not have enough power. Try a USB port on the back of the computer if possible. Also try a shorter USB cable if you have one around.
