Lift the Flat Bed Scanner up so that you can find the Cartridges Inside.
Remove the Cartridges from the Printer.
Move the Cartridge Carrier Back and Forth as fast as you can!
Replace the Cartridges back to the Printer!

Good Luck!!!!

Have you tried going into Control Panel > Programs and Features, and then navigating to the offending Printer, right clicking and selecting Uninstall?

HP 6310 carriage jam then a message to shut down

If the 6310 has been in service for awhile, the printhead runner dries out. Try liberally spraying the printhead runners with WD-40. With the power off, slide the carriage to the left and spray the runners in the parking area.

Officejet Pro L7650 black/yellow print head problem

There isn't a good fix for this problem. You can try the following;
1. Plug Unit Directly into wall, not thru a powerstrip.
2. Reset the Printer, Unplug Power Supply, Wait 30 Secs. Re-connect. Turn Power Back On.
3. Open Case, Wait for Printheads to move to right. Take Out Offending Printhead. Clean Gold Contacts / Soak Print Nozzles in 1/8" Water, if dried out. shake printhead to loosen stuck nozzles (watch out for flying ink!!). DO NOT PUT PRINTHEAD BACK IN YET!! Close Cover. Wait for printer to say "XXX Printhead is missing" Re-Open Cover, Wait till printheads move to right, Re-Insert Printhead, Close Cover. Reset if Necessary.
4. BTW None of this worked for me. I'm gonna see if anyone I know has one of these printers and swap out parts to see if it is indeed the printhead(s).
5. According to other posts, HP Service will tell you to try all of the above, then when it doesn't work, they tell you your printer is defective. Someone else mentioned a bad firmware problem. If you're out of warranty, your screwed. Another HP Horror Story! Oh My! California wants to elect their old CEO. lol.

Cartridge problem 6310 xi bought in America - 339

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel. # Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right). # Continue doing this until it looks clean. # Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing. # Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.
1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier. 2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.
# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

How do we change the ink cartridge on a HP 6310?

Hi kscherington,
The short version. Grab the bottom of the cartridge, which is under the printers display window. Pull up & the hole scanner bed and keyboary assembly will lift up as one. Keep the power turned on while doing this. Once opened the ink carridge will move to the right where you can replace your cartridge.
You can go to pg. 96 through pg. 99 in your manual.
