Netflix without cable tv?

You'll need a broadband connection to the Internet to do Netflix. I'm assuming you currently have a bundle; Internet with your cable TV. So you can get rid of cable tv and just have Internet through the cable company or if it's available DSL via the telephone company. You could also get Internet via Satelite, but it cost more.

Internet Problam Windows 7

hi, make sure you have your router connected to your cable modem. make sure the internet lights are blinking on both.

no internet light on modem:
this indicates that the internet service provider has an internet outage. call them and see if internet is down in your area. if it is up, they will probably have to replace the modem.

internet light on modem bot not on router:
this indicates that you have the cable plugged in the wrong port, or you are using a bad cable.
make sure the internet cable coming from the modem is plugged into the routers "Internet" port, not the ones labeled 1,2,3,4. if that was not the problem, check with another cable.

software issues:
if you have an internet light on both devices, yet the problem persists, go on your computer:
1) click the start button
2) click control panel
3) click network and internet
4) click network and sharing center
5) click change addapter settings (located on the left hand navigation bar)
6) right click on your local area network.
7) go to properties
8) click on internet protocol 4 (tcp/IPv4)
9) click properties
10) make sure you have is set to automatically obtain an ip address.

I have cable internet and how would i connect the DGL-4500 wireless router to cable???

I have used Cat5e plenum Cable for my internet connection and I faced same problem. If you are just concerned with internet access and not access between devices on your LAN, then you just need to connect the first router LAN to the WAN port of the second router with the mentioned Ethernet cable. It is also in your best interest to make sure the IP ranges are different between the two DHCP servers you now have. That is, make sure they are not on the same subnet or serving up conflicting IP's.

Limited or no connectivity to the internet. my setup: the telephone port is approx 30m from where i need internet access. Originally I had a dlink wireless router set up but was connected via cable, now...

On which port of the D-link router did you plug the WRT160N router?

Do this setup.

Disconnect the WRT160N from D-link.

Connect a computer to port 1 of the WRT160N. Access the setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 on the address bar. you may need to type in the username and password for WRT160N. on the setup page Change the LAN IP address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1. save the settings.

Connect a cable from port 1,2,3 or 4 of the D-link router to the Internet port of the WRT160N. turn off everything then turn them on starting from cable modem>D-link >WRT160N then computer.

You should be able to access the internet.
